Half-Life 2: Episode 2 will release on October 9 on PC.
(Also comes out on PS3 which is what the Image shows - sorry couldn't find a Windows box)

Also contains multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2 and puzzle game Portal.

The Orange box contains the original Half-Life 2 and Episode One in addition to the new trio. Which makes me wonder if this pre-order price is correct. Anyway, worth a go.

SUMMARY
There is only ONE product available for PC at retail and it is the Orange Box. Powerplaydirect have got the wrong price. Not quite sure what will happen if you order it.

DETAILS
The Orange Box, available on the PC (US$49.99) as well as the 360 and PS3 (US$ 59.99). In addition to the three new products -- Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half-Life: Episode Two -- The Orange Box will also contain the full version of Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One.

"Those who purchase the PC version of The Orange Box will get three separate Steam product codes: One for the three new games, one for HL2, and one for Episode One. This way a PC Orange Box owner can give away their Half-Life 2 or Episode One unused Steam product codes if they don't need a copy of those games."

this is the correct price. this is just for the addon alone. the orange box is for the 360 mate. like last time it comes out on the pc as just the addon. the 360 hasnt seen the game before so this correct! cheap though its usually about 19.99

Once released this will be the price everywhere (online).

And in all likelihood the cheapest place to get it will be a direct download from Steam. With Episode One they got mightily embarrased that shops undercut them, so I'd be a lot of money on the direct download being at least as cheap, if not cheaper, than any other shop this time round.

Think I'll just wait and download this, rather than buy in the shops. Much cheaper.
But if there's a 360 version of HL2 coming out I'd definitely be interested.

Can't wait for Ep 2. Think I'll play 1 again before I get it :)

episode 1 was rubbish and too short -.- hoping ep2 is better ^^

Does anyone know if Counter-Strike: Source is included in this package? I remember paying £30 for Half-Life 2 back in 2005 so this doesn't seem bad.

Yep, there's a 360 version this time around.

It doesn't come with HL2 and HL2 Ep1 aswell.

That's what the "Black Box" was going to be but they've canned it.
The RETAIL Orange box comes with the whole lot this time. The idea (for PC anyway) is that if you already have these you sell the media and game keys.

I was so hacked off with the steam account sign up & log in issues I swore I wouldn't buy another steam game.

Yes I do have CSS but as Episode 2 is so cheap I wanted to give this copy away if it did has CSS.

Yeah shame it has no CSS with this.

What is powerplay direct like with returns, as i'm only prepared to buy this if it does infact come with all the games!

Powerplay have obviously got the wrong product listed. Chances are they'll delete any pre-orders of this item.
Not many retailers have the proper Orange Box listed for PC but the best so far is HMV at here
£24.99 delivered and you get 5% off with quidco.

They are very good with returns. I bought something once by accident when I was testing out a voucher code, and they had no issue with the return.

Half-life 2 was a good game with a great engine (the physics stuff is still more impressive that the excellent Gears of War, though I'm sure its unreal engine must be able to do pyhsics just as well ) spoilt by rubbish vehicle bits that went on for ever. And the annoying viewbob that seems to give me motion sickness.

All said I still want to play episode 1 and 2 (anyone know a good deal on episode 1 and 2 combined?).
