Next cheapest is £22.99 at ShopTo. They also have 4% Quidco, which could take it down to £22.07. But obv this is still a bit cheaper. :)

Is this good as single player or mainly for online?

I really enjoyed the single playing games and portal which is one of the five games included is fantastic

Zero Punctuation review. "Portals great and if you don't think so you must be stupid"

I would say it's mainly a single player game with only 1 of the 5 games (Team Fortress) being the online element from the box. HL2 + both of the episodes should take you around 25 hours to complete.

There is no time on completing Portal. It just depends how clever you are!

Team Fortress is not the most jam packed of a multiplayer game with only a handful of characters and maps but is great fun to play.

Played this the other day, wasn't interested in the others but Portal is a masterpiece. Worth £20.99 just for Portal alone.

P.S the cake is a lie

I advise against purchasing retail Valve products. They have enforced region locks on their retail items. So if you buy a retail game here, it gets deactivated when you bring your laptop outta the country. Safest is to get it direct from Steam.

Not sure if it applies for the European version, but the Russian,Asian and Thai copies are affected.

Orange Box is an outstanding offer for a pack of oustanding games that each stand up easily againt some of the stuff that is rolled out at 30 and 40 quid a go by developers

TF2 is an absolute gem of a game and benefits from playstyle, map and player updates and program updates on an ongoing basis. The Orange Box itself has won over 100 industry awards and TF2 has kinda wiped the floor with everything individually

Easy to pick up, tremendous fun to play and outrageously addicitive. Can't wait for the heavy class updatewhich gives more new weapons, a whole naw gameplay mode and another 5 valve maps and a community map

Ps - the Spyro is a pie

So this applies if you decide you want take your laptop outta your region, if you decide that when you do you want to play games on it, if you have a laptop capable of playing HL2 and TF2 and if it actually applies to the Euro region.

I'd say, given that's likely to be a failry small section of this site's members that this is still a great deal and no reason to avoid a retail purchase

You do realise this is the PS3 version right? And its region-free? There are no regoin locks or activations on it at all.

Agreed about Portal and I'm just glad I own both consoles (also had a Wii but chopped that in for a Xbox 360 Arcade 175w) as the new Portal coming this winter "Portal: Still Alive" will be an Xbox 360 exclusive game offered for download over Xbox Live Arcade.
