Bought a joint yesterday.Only had large pieces with lots of fat.Picked one that had a lot of fat on one half, asked the butcher to cut one in half and so got a nice piece of meat at the size and price i wanted.

Im sorry but morrisons is naff where i live try and visit the illingworth one in halifax the only morrisons there it is dreadful

they have the old freezers since it was built some 30 years ago, there is no bakery, no fish mongers, no fresh pies or tasty chickens, no toilets, no cafe, limited on everything, no fresh bread lways run out, no in house baked goods ie cakes, bread, pies etc.

no cash machines, only 3 trollies for baby carriers, limited on cds, dvds, no fresh cut meat counter, the list is endless i wrote to mr morrison which was just to meet with the manager of the illingworth store pointless really as 4 years ago we got asked where we would like a new store built and guess what where still waiting they are behind the times fancy ads thats it spen ur money on decent stores not actors and ads

Agreed, I looked at them the other day and the price per kilo was higher than Waitrose and the to be honest the meat looked bloody awful.

Don't believe for one second that you're getting this half price / they'll be selling at cost because they'll fleece you elsewhere.

On a another note - Morrisons had a big sign saying 'Special Offer' for multipack Coke cans - the price per can was £0.387 pence - it's only £0.40 pence per tin in Waitrose!!

Just been to my local Morrisons in Castle Bromwich and got 5 pieces of beef. I asked the butcher to cut me a large piece for xmas dinner.

Can't grumble at £1.50 a pound, cheaper than going to the meat market in town!

thats good go for it .
just a tip beef is better flavour and more tender when it goes browner , if its red leave in the fridge covered for a bit longer ,normal beef is hung for 7-10 days in the abbatoir , but the best stuff is hung for 3 weeks .
I always buy the reduced stuff for that reason its that bit older
#25
good deal got 4 to freeze
