brilliant espeacially if you dont have the knowhow or the tools ... I bought it at the full price anf have already had a few adjustments amde to my bike that would have cost a small fortune if i had taken it to my local bike shop. The only draw back is that the parts used are meant to be halfords own brand ... but it has been heard that if you supply your own parts they will use them.

Bought a bike for my young son from them, "All adjusted" we were told, "ready to go" we were told.

Going down a slight hill he pulls on the brakes annnnnnnd, nothing, no brakes.

I would NEVER EVER USE HALFORDS EVER AGAIN FOR BIKES!!!!!

I got a nice letter and a gift voucher as a sorry though?

I would hope that was a one off; bad of them though.

I've bought a good few things from Halfords and never had any problem

Anyway, back on topic; this doesn't seem a bad deal at all. Heat added

Looks good on first read - but you cant seem to apply on line. I think that is becuase it mentions:
'May require an initial interim service and parts. Additional charge may apply, please ask at your local store for details.'
Which probably means if your bikes not brand new they are going to charge you around £20 odd to do a check up before you can go onto plan - I may be wrong but thats what it sounds like.

A colleague of mine took out one of their care plans. He now refers to them as bike butchers. Needless to say I've voted cold:-(

To be honest I wont be voting but I don't see the point in this. I have owned a £500 mountain bike for about 5 years and in all that time the only thing that ever happened was the chain fell off the sprocket. 2 Minutes and a dirty hand later fixed. Replacement tyres/puncture, guides online, some water (which I believe most in the UK have access to :-)), the required replacement parts or puncture repair kit and a couple of screwdrivers which again most people should have at least a couple of screwdrivers and job is a good un!

There is very little to go wrong with a push bike, not exactly rocket science devices. I just cant see the use in this.

you only pay for the parts used

So at the end of the day all you are getting is free fitting and a safety check which to be honest if you cant manage to do that yourself I think you need to reconsider your mode of transport and surely if you cannot manage the repairs yourself someone you know could assist and show you how.
