Did it ever go away? :?
Someone mentioned in the original thread that the offer was on until the end of May for 18-month contracts.

it went away, it was only for the weekend:-D

contract length is 18 MONTHS

all products ... = 1- Gig £ 5 / month,
3 G = £ 7.50
7.5 G = £12.5

Precondition .. existing customers only ... SO FAR ! add. to an EXISTING contract with 3 .

Background ..

they (3 ) just sells MODEM VERSION (E220)

The 'faster Stick' is around @ Voda, and starts @ T-Mobile ...

THIS IS A HIGHLY competitive arena .. and MARKET SHARE (-shift) is @ stake ...

So '3' will have this OFFER until MAY .... and the prices will fall further (at the competition)

... / EXPECT this to be in the 'direction' of being the PERMANENT LEVEL - for '3'

ORANGE has entered ... the door ?? or something ???

O2 is making 'silent sounds' .....

IF you can sign up - for this Price (level) ... even @ a18 months contract ... THIS will 'hold water' for you ...

It is cheap and a MARKET SHARE exercise by '3'

Go for it ... :)

I popped into my local three store last Thursday after seeing the post to see if the offer was going to be on the following weekend.

I overheard the manager trying to sell the 7GB package half price to a customer who had just signed up to a new mobile contract.

I was sick of waiting, so I pounced and told him I wanted the half price broadband on the 3GB and wasn't prepared to come back. The manager said that it wasn't a problem.

On a similar note, my twin negotiated a Nokia N95 8GB for £25 a month if he renewed his phone contract (another 18 months directly with Three). 300 min 3 to 3, 700 mins talk and/or text, and some video minutes.

Three seem so deperate to retain customer loyality (even more than usual). Especially if they call you! (just make sure it is Three and not a broker trying to mislead you).

prefer to have payg for 19.99
#11
Unless anybody knows differently, doesn't PAYG still cost £10, £15 or £25 for the 1GB, 3GB or 7GB respectively (and a 30 day expiry) using top-ups.

Unless poor credit, go abroad etc, surely you would be better off been on contract given it is half price?
#12
can only see 1gb for £10 am i looking in the wrong place?>
#13
Agreed with Vixygwim, under certain circumstances the contract may not be cheaper for people wanting to use the mobile broadband service for a short time period or intermittently. Infact, I only purchased this because I am away on business and at the mercy of hotel WIFI services for retrieving and sending emails, documents etc.

It is a shame they put the time limit on PAYG.

yer it would rule if there was no time limit.

I know it's been mentioned before but...

If your already with 3 and have a compatible phone - you can get a 'bolt on' 1GB a month for £5 that can be cancelled any time. Just use your phone as the modem.

This means NO 18 MONTH CONTRACT

Gunton10 are you using a MAC or PC?

If you run XP on a MAC then just use same process as PC. Just connect your phone to Nokia PC Suite - there's two settings for Three UK - I think it's either 'Eseries' or 'Three'. I have a Nokia 6120 Classic but have to use the Eseries setting. Thats all there is to it. Make sure you're in a HSDPA area or it may not work. I found this out after weeks of confusion...

Slightly different, but no more difficult, if your on a MAC

I hear you but sometimes needs must ;-)

On the Mac - firstly download this -
Scripts for Nokia 3.5G (HSDPA) phones (26kB): Nokia 3.5G Scripts
from here - http://www.taniwha.org.uk/
also this just in case the others don't work - http://drivers.wdsglobal.com/mac/NokiaSeries60+FC1.sit

Put these scripts in - your hard drive/Library/Modem Scripts folder

forgot - if using a Nokia, select PC Suite on the phone when you connect the usb cable

Open your net work panel then connect your phone - via usb (bluetooth is just slowing things down) and add another network. You'll get a drop down menu - make your phone selection in the interface menu and give it a name - click on create. The telephone number is three.co.uk - leave name and password blank

Click advanced - then in vendor select other . In model choose the script you want - HSDPA CID 1 to begin with (try the other ones if this doesn't work) - click ok - then apply.

If the HSDPA ones dont work then try NokiaSeries60+FC1

Select your new connection then connect

Thats 'all' there is to it...
