A bargain? Less than a set of replacement cartridges :whistling:
#2
All budget printers cost less than a set of replacement cartridges, primarily because manufacturer ink is way over priced and mostly because the cartridges you get with the printer are almost empty causing you to buy a new set almost immediately. However I stand by my find that this is a good deal for a multi-function printer, unless you know of it cheaper elsewhere?
#3
Would this be ok for printing standard typed text. Also are the cartridges readily available and relatively cheap ?
#4
google is your friend!
#5
none near me.. but nice price...
#6
Got this same printer for a similar price from Argos at Christmas and very happy with it so far...
#7
is this compatible with vista??
#8
Mmmm this sounds a good deal, but cannot beat the Canon MP460 for £24.99 back in December/January from Argos. None the less this is a good deal.

Hi, I currently have a Dell printer and its costing me £25/£35 per cartridge for black/white and colour cartridges repectively. I need a cheaper printer to run as I'm writing a thesis at present and so many a page will need to be printed. Does anyone know if this would be cheap to run?
#10
Bought the MP460 2 monthes ago for £24.99, last time it was on offer at Argos. It is an excellent printer for this money with a perfectly adequate scanner. Don't know if this is similar.
#11
Around £15 for genuine carts or half that for compatibles from "bestpriceink" on ebay

Cool, not too bad at all then. Thanks
#13
But has anyone found any stock anywhere?
#14
got this one when it was on offer last time, tis great even if you only use it as a scanner/copier..
#15
Decent - compatable with so many memory cards!
#16
Very cheap to run. acts like a normal printer for everyday use.
Good copies tho photos not as good as mine (MP760) but for the price you cannot go wrong.

Get it if you need a printer and accept the scanner/copier as a bonus.
If not already sorted I wouldn't hesitate having seen one in operation.

Great software too. Sets itself up with ease.

Compatible with ALL windows Operating systems.

Careful, just because a printer uses ink cartridges costing £10-15 doesn't mean that it is better value than a printer which uses £20-25 cartridges. Look at the ink capacity of the cartridges as well to work out the real cost of ink and compare the cost per ml.

Was going to get this but Out of Stock in every store in the North West, including all Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales stores.

Not good.

.........

I have a Lexmark X2230 and it eats ink for fun.

It was cheap to start off with but the constant refills needed make it un-economical for me.

My previous HP Photosmart was much better.

So, I'm looking for an all in 1 printer that can Scan, Copy and of course...PRINT.

Want to stay away from Lexmark, with perhaps the most important thing being value for money on ink cartridges.

Any suggestions or advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Refurbished Brother DCP135C from Brother shop on Ebay for £47.50 You can get replacement cartridges for it for around £2.50 each (uses black, cyan, magenta and yellow) from, amongst others, Choice Stationery.

I got the MP460, but it uses the same ink as this.

Readily available? Yes... ASDA or PCWorld for example always have PG-40 and PG-41's (as well as the higher capacity PG-50 and PG-51).

Relatively cheap? Hell no... You'r talking about £18 and £23 for each, so just over £40 for genuine replacements. PCW have inks buy one get one half price (have done for months), so £32 if you go for that.
#26
I'd ignore the stock checker and go to your local store if you desperately want one - it's showing out of stock at my local argos but I saw a pile of about 5 of them with a big yellow reduced sticker earlier in the day.
#27
Couple of good reviews at TrustedReviews & PC Pro - voted excellent value too when it was double the price.
#28
It's out of stock from Elgin down to Dundee!
#29
This is a good deal and this deal has existed for some time with Argos. I tried to get this printer just after Christmas within the London area and there were none available in London by checking the stock of each store online. It would be interesting to hear if anyone can actually get this printer from Argos ?

Eventually, I ordered a better printer the Canon MP520 from another online store - awaiting delivery.
#30
I would say that the cheaper the printer the more expensive will be the cartridges. The printers which have separate ink cartridges for each colour are best as long term they tend to be more economical. Recommend - Canon MP520 and Canon MP610.

I am waiting for the Canon MP520 to arrive.
#31
just paid 21.00 for a copy replacement toner for our old HP printer - would have bought this as the scanner would be handy but can't find one anyone in est/north london or essex!
#32
I've done a lot of research today based on the budget ALL IN ONE models on PC World.

I've found that the Lexmark is the cheapest printer but has the most expensive ink that doesn't last.

Canon is more or less the same, but with cheaper ink - just. Though you can get them individually as needed.

HP has average prices with average price ink.

Epson has cheaper ink.

Kodak has even cheaper ink but is only available in a few places.
