HALF PRICE Car MOT @ Nationwide Autocentre (The AA) NOW £27.00 WAS £54.00
Something of the same thing posted months ago so just updating although this offer does not require a voucher / coupon.

Car MOT @ Nationwide Autocentre (AA) NOW £27.00 WAS £54.00
For a limited period you can get a 50% discount off your MOT at any one of our 223 Autocentres across the UK.
There is an option to select that you are an AA member to get more discount BUT do not select this as although it does give you more discount, this is taken off the original price of £54.00 not £27.00 so effectively paying more overall.
e.g. selecting AA member option I would pay £36.18 but not selecting it means I still pay the £27.00.
Good deal if you are in need of a MOT shortly.
No need for any voucher / coupon

I second that, Nationwide have in the past tried to charge me for repairs that were non-existent. I use the local council for my MOTs now where I get an accurate MOT test, not just some profit making ploy.
Nationwide are notorious though
well said  there are some honest garages out there & i work for one (independent garage), doing mots & repairs.
You should try going to a dealer to get a Aston Martin services / MOT or even just a Jaguar. Their philosophy is if it is slightly worn it gets scrapped and new part fitted. Customer billed for parts (full price) and labour (huge fee). :w00t:
In agreement here.
You seen the new adverts for Quickfit?
I have used a reliable Nationwide autocentre for a number of years and still use them, although it would seem they are few and far between.
I have never been over charged or found stupid little things on a MOT to fail the car on. Also, there are fairly large discounts for AA members.
Just had 2 cars MOT at the Nationwide Autocentre in Ringwood Road in Poole, Dorset. Both sailed through with no problems.
Hot deal if you can find a decent branch though!!
Had car serviced with a competitor prior to MOT and brakes judged to be in excellent condition only 2 weeks before MOT. Took car for MOT to Nationwide for half price MOT and car failed MOT.
Then took car to third indepenedent garage for a brand new MOT and surpise suprise car flew through MOT and tester said absolutely nothing wrong with the brake disc that nationwide autos had failed my car for.
AVOID at all costs!
I would NEVER set foot in the place again, but to be fair I'm not sure I'd be allowed back through the door after the erm valid comments I made:whistling:

Do they even do numberplates or windscreens?
I would say it helps if you know your car is sound or you know about cars so that they don't try to pull the wool over your eyes!
The Mot Testers Manual-the official one.

Sad but true, all garages should sing from the same hymn book but there will always be some that are in it for themselves rather than to give a fair and reliable service.
Same here with my local. Never been charged for phantom problems. I trust them much more than the dealership that sold me my car.
If somebody here is happy to tar everyone with the same brush and say AVOID at all costs because he got turned over by his local branch, should I be just as helpful and say DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE at all costs?
10 year old car passed two years running. No complaints here.
