I saw this yesterday and called in to Tesco's to check it out. Eventually I found 4 packs with skanky steaks in. Wouldn't even put them on a black eye....

Was going to post this myself, this is "sizzling" hot.
#5
been looking for these around stores for days.
its always sold out, customer service can never tell why and when it would be restocked
#6
Just had some tonight, very tasty

Tesco still do 'rain check' for any offers. Afterall it is their fault they run out of stock. if you can be bothered of course , what with customer service and having to insist.
personaly dont rate tesco meats (excluding when they do hereford or local meats ). even with the 10% staff disc , I can save and get better @ waitrose most of the time.

i've heard that too, that they don't increase their orders at all for the offer, and use it as a ploy to get people into the shop
Same thing with the ben & jerrys ice cream deal in the summer signs everywhere but never found any stock just empty fridges.

Pay no attention bargainhunter2008 - The previous poster was clearly a troll, or somebody who doesnt have the slightest clue what they are talking about (or yet another Waitrose fanboy...;-))

Agree!
My local butcher is slightly more expensive but another level of quality.
Once I had to take back a half eaten steak to Tesco.
They were shocked by the refund request but did not object: they probably know the quality of their meat.:)

depends where it is sourced I have found. tescos generally have the lowest meat quality across the big 4 imho.

Anyone know if this beef is from Argentina?

Yes if you talking about me, then you are wrong, I buy good British meat that I know its safe to eat and doesnt taste like crap, I buy my meat from my local butcher, supporting my local business and it isnt much more than tesco. if you have had my experiences that ive had with tesco meat then you would say the same.

whilst sold out of the prepack sirloin the free cut Scotch rump on the fresh meat counter at my local Tesco ( haslingden) was down to 2.60 a lb. was lovely and tender as I found whilst portioning up the cart load I bought... Mmmm raw steak...

got some yesterday from my local one, offer is still on.

cooked one of the packs tonight, made my own sauce with piri piri, worchester sauce, gravy stock and hungarian red wine i have to say it was bloody lovely.

had to trim the steak as it had a thick line of fat rather than a nice slither but there were no lines of fat going through it, almost like fillet, lovely.

it isnt as nice as the free range aberdeen angus i can get from my local farmer but i am also not spending £18 on a huge joint.

it was that nice the mrs ate it, and she doesnt eat beef normally unless it is caked in some kind of chinese sauce and cooked the 'chinese' way of steaming / boiling the meat before frying.
