Half Price Games for the Apple Mac @ Apple Store £19.99

I was browsing the Apple Store in London yesterday and found that they were selling some of their game (mainly for Intel Based Macs) for half-price. Mac Games are genuinely more expensive than their PC counterparts so getting these at £19.99 each is a relatively good bargain for Mac Owners. (Original price £39.99)

I treated myself to Command and Conquer 3. They should be doing them at other Apple Store around the country and also checked the Apple Online Store (If link doesn't work then go to http://www.apple.com/ukstore and click on "Mac Software" then "Action Games")

Games on offer are as follows:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08
Need for Speed Carbon
Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars
Battlefield 2142
Madden NFL 08

Voted Hot! Could do with some decent games for my Mac, thanks.
#13
Added heat.

It's a shame more games are not dual platform like Football Manager, that way us Mac users would get loads of cheap games.

Bet you can...

bluetooth or wireless network without any extra bits add on and extras
#17
why would you want to play using bluetooth?

Ild rather play football on the side of a mountain.

Depends if you've got built-in bluetooth or WAN or not. Much like an old apple computer wouldn't be able to do it 'without any extra bits'. Besides, the cost to purchases those 'extra bits' would pale in comparison to the premium you pay for them on an apple machine...

They are all rubbish EA games :( Good deal if you are after one of the games in the deal though...obviously.

Thats such a misinformed statement, all computers have been able to network together pretty much since they were first invented and games could be played over networks ever since multiplayer was invented (wired, wireless, well any sort of network type including the internet). I could play doom over network on my pc back in 1993.

Actually, the Mac had a lot more big name developer support 20 years ago than it does nowadays, right up until the 90s, back in the days of the Apple Games Kitchen™.

Of course, Boot Camp solves it all. All you games are belong...
#23
Thanks ordered Need for Speed Carbon and C&C 3 for Mac Book Pro!

£45.19 :(
#24
Command and Conquer is amazing!

it would seem odd though, if you were interested in gaming to buy a mac and then run bootcamp, when you could have got a better PC for half the price.

the danby jason comment 'bet you cant do that on a PC' had me in stitches....

It's called the best of both worlds.

I don't get the fanboy attitude. ''Oh look a thread on Macs. I'm going to tell them that they bought overpriced inferior hardware, cause I'm so damn cool''. Yeah, get a life.

I don't see every PC thread brought down with. ''Mac is like amazing compared to a PC. A 5 year old designed Vista lolz''.

im not trying to flame, its just this is hotukdeals, and i was purely speaking in terms of value for money, which is the point of this site.
#28
What I said wasn't directed at you. More at those who start an argument for no reason.
#29
Surely the point of buying a Mac is so you don't have to use Windows. Otherwise it kinda defeats the object. I bought Virtual PC for my very first Mac 8 years ago and never used it, Mac OS X was far better and it turned out I didn't even need Windows for anything so ended up selling it.

Games wise I've only ever played a few games on my Mac, don't get time nowadays. My advice is if your serious about gaming then go buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360 instead rather than using your Mac (or PC).
