Thses printers are still expensive on ink, yes it only takes one cart but thats going to cost you between £13 & £15, i pay 80p a cart for my canon printer.

Er... the review you have posted says that this is a realy cheap printer to run. Cartridges for £13 - £15 IS cheap for this kind of thing.

Are you talking about refill packs that are 80p a cartridge???
£17.49 on Ebay
Hi emma the compatable ink carts i use for my canon printer are 69p each the printer takes 5 carts so that works out @ £3.45 a set.
Sorry Justin we don't allow eBay seller links in HotUKDeals forums :)

Welcome to HUKD by the way Justin :)
Looks like a really good deal and i am on the look out for a all in one printer to replace my Epson Stylus CX5200 as its refusesing to print and its full of faults all the time which puts me in the situations where i will never buy epson again and will always tell others the same.

The only thing which puts me off buying that all in one printer is the single cartridge which means if the black runs out before the others i need to replace them all just to get more black :(.

I'll have to keep an eye open for something similar i guess
When I try to order it adds a cable and spare cart to my basket, with no way to remove them!

Total cost £50!
You need to scroll down before you add it to your basket and uncheck the boxes for the extras.
Thanks For The Welcome.

You Can Uncheck The Ink And Cable, There Near The Bottom Of The Page.
Anh, right you are!

Bit cheeky, innit, adding stuff to your order that you didn't ask for?
Yeah, I hate the way sites include extras like that. Pixmania for example automatically puts the "zen engagement warranty" and the VPix member card in to their basket... and a few other sites do the same. I think there should be some law against this as people could just click submit, next, pay etc and not really check!
It's very annoying that they're automatically checked and I bet there are a lot of people caught out after they've paid.
sorry Rayman, it's a learning curve...
That's okay :) No problem
someone told me lexmark ink cartridges are really expensive - i was told to stick to an epson printer if i was going to upgrade because they were a lot cheaper when replacement cartridges were needed

well to get ink cartridges for my Epson Styles CX5200 it cost as follows

Black Ink £25-30
Manga £13-18
Cyan £13-18
Yellow £13-18

Thats for offical ink cartridges which works out as £50-£84, i can get a full set of compatiable cartridges for around £10 but im not sure if these are causing the problem i have with the printer but then again i've seen loads of people on the net with same and more problems.
I don't think you can generalise across brands, by saying epson is cheaper to run than lexmark, because different models consume the ink differently.

I would strongly advise against refills, as I've heard from trained printer technicians that these completely mess up the insides of the printer. I'm not sure about compatible cartridges though, but they never seem to be as good quality printing, or don't last half as long.

I actually have a mono laser, which I think is well worth the investment... I paid £100 for it new.
What!! - The problem you're having with your Epson sounds like the waste ink pads counter being full. Just Google "sscserve" and that will find you a little program that will reset the counter and then the printer will spring back to life. If you can't find it, PM me your email address and i'll email it to you.
