It all comes to £10.50 and you don't need to use the sim you can just throw it away

As per posters below this also tracks through Quidco

Does anyone have a link to the 50p sim, the USB modem link works but can't find the sim
#6
I'm confused, possibly because I've never used O2. But isnt the modem £10 anyway? What's the bonus of adding the sim please! Thanks :)
#7
1. Click on o2 (the big white o2) takes you to home page
2. In phones and tariffs select "See all tariffs"
3. Middle right is the Pay and Go, click on "view tariffs"
4. Select Pay and Go Sim Only tab
5. Select the tariff button, it's then put in your basket

It's usually £20 and is now half price with this offer :whistling:

Yeh just I don't see why we'd add the sim, you can buy the modem on it's own for £10 regardless? Maybe I'm missing something obvious. It comes with a sim according to the online chat help :)

May even be able to get £35 cashback with quidco?
#11
Good deal thanks.
Go through Quidco and top up with £15 within the first 30 days and receive £35 cashback.

worth a try, can always return it before 30 days for a full refund if doesnt track
#13
Just found you can't checkout if you just added the modem to your basket, you need to add the 50p sim and then checkout becomes enabled.

Bargain
#15
tried it but it doesn't allow you to complete your name and dob therefore won't allow you to proceed any further
#16
It worked ok for me.

T&C:

Cashback is not paid for iPhones. In order to receive £3.50 cashback a PAYG phone handset has to be activated and topped up with credit. Cashback for this merchant will take at least two days to track into your Quidco account. The £70 Palm Pre offer will track in at £60 and be uplifted upon validation.

It was posted in December at £15 with Quidco @ £30 so for £10.50 with Quidco at £35 it’s £9.50 cheaper and it reached 276 degrees then. Hot for me.

can these be unlocked to work with a broadband sim from another provider such as "three" ?
#20
someone has said on a previous o2 dongle deal that these are unlocked but ive yet to try mine . . .
suspended#21
Ordered, Thanks
#22
My one didn't track on topcashback (but the one I bought at £20 did).

For the people saying its tracking as 12-month sim only, does that apply to the people who bought it at £20 as well? It tracked at £35 as PAYG broadband on topcashback.
#23
Just ordered one! just checking, it is the sim inside the dongle that needs to be topped up isn't it? - not the 50pence one?
#24
I've got an iPhone SIM with unlimited data allowance on it - is there any reason why I couldn't put that SIM into this dongle to make use of the data allowance on my laptop?

Yes.
#26
You reckon its available at the half price instore ?
banned#27
Haven't ordered, may do later.... Just tried this to get it to just £10:

Add the sim card to your basket, then add the dongle. Click on checkout in new tab. Then in original tab delete the sim card from the basket. I've followed the checkout page through to the payment section where it's only asking for £10 so I guess that it'll go through. Not sure on the legality of tricking their system into doing this though...

I orderd one yesterday and got a text in the evening saying it had been sent out and should receive today between 9-9 but still hasn't turned up lol.

On another forum, a guy who works for O2 has said the deal is available in the shops @ £10 for the dongle (cant say how true this is but worth a squirt).

Apparently they come unlocked and some have been using the Iphone 'unlimited web and wifi' sim. The one I had running in my Nokia N95 got turned off the weekend though so I think they're cottoning on to it now lol.

3G coverage is poor, leave well alone,

I got a dongle for a tenner at my local O2 shop in Milton Keynes the other day, can't say if it's unlocked as I haven't used it yet

Got the message 'order declined' at checkout. Ordered 2 a few months back and there may be a limit on the amount purchased. Will try and order one in my wife's name.
#35
My phone already acts as a modem if you want it to. speed is really good even in low coverage... however eats up usage quickly.... It took almost 1MB with hardly doing anything and it uses data when you arent even doing anything.
#36
I'm in a a strong 3G signal area and O2 is useless for me unfortunately, a shame since this is a great deal if it works for you.

Sorry Guys, never used a dongle before, but might find myself in need of one pretty soon. Can I just check, if I bought this, what else would I need?. Do companies not offer these dongle free with online packages (which you would need to use it anyway)?. Just not sure if I need to take advantage of this deal or not?

Any helps please folks?

Cheers,

Rich

I have the white version of this from O2. I tried to unlock it myself and found it already unlocked. Haven't tried a different SIM in it, but the unlock software definately said it was already unlocked.

I know of many that have had their iphone sims disconnected / or the web bolt on deactivated after 3 months. O2 are hot on it now
