They pack the pork shoulder joint in blue plastic so you can not see just what a manky cut you were getting - I bought one 2 week sand and the majority was fat and gristle, struggled to eat any of it. Why can't they use clear wrappers so you can see what you are getting?

The gammon ones look nicer but are twice the price.

Our store comes in a vacuum pack (a bit like the OP picture) which is 50% blue and a clear section which lets you see the skin/crackling side only :( The gammon vacuum pack is all clear. I guess different stores may be different.

I got some shoulder on Sunday wasn't impressed at all same as above

The beef is also on offer and thats always good

we had a shoulder for dinner sunday it was beautiful cook it slow and long...depends on the pack you get i think

I agree - we have had good ones in the past but the way it is packaged it is impossible to tell whether you are buying a nice lean piece or a roll of scrag ends.
