FYI: There was a whole page of 'knocking copy' in The Independent today highlighting that while B&Q were doing nothing wrong/illegal, their current big sale reductions were based on prices in December which were FAR higher than those in say October - ie the net real reduction from the 'normal' level of prices was nothing like the "half-price" headline figure.

Have to say I think The Indy were rather short of material as we all know that big ticket items so often have a massive sale on and it's what you are asked TO PAY, not might have been, that matters, but just thought I'd mention it as a topical issue in the national press today.

BYQ and Homebase both up prices (double) for 28 days in December to allow them to legally claim a half-price sale in January. Not illegal but terribly misleading. And expensive. And not great quality. COLD

And annoying when you have to change the prices! Thankfully i don't work for the evil retail empire anymore. As far as HB is concerned look out for 20% Friends and Family events and get that discount on top. If the showroom staff are anything like I was they'll be giving them away to everyone! :-D
