Newzbin is probally the best website for NZB's

the categorisation is superb, along with details, search facillities.

Usual cost for this service is just a mere 25p per weeks(minimum 8 weeks) but Christmas deal is sign up over the next 2 weeks and pay just 12p..

add this to the likes off hitnews.eu free trials or your ownusernet access and this makes a great downloading package.

Alt Binz is a free program you can use to download your files also.

Max out your internet connection with newsgroup downloading..

newsgroups covers a huge variety of information before the piracy claims start jumping out..

worth noting, that in the sale you can top up to 52 weeks (usually 16 was the limit)
I just got a years worth for about £6.50

Hot, but most news server has free news search with your account.

I love this site; very well organised search and good value for money.

Now if only I could find a cheaper supplier of 200-day-retention-newsgroup-access than giganews...

I don't understand what does this offer over other usenet search engines that are free, such as binsearch?

for me its the categorisation/simplicity of it all.
every thing is in groups, sub groups, etc. can be customized loads to show only what you want to see.
i may not be looking for any particular file but can look through a category at what as been added since i last looked etc.
(edit to add as below ive never needed to go anywhere else either)

I use these guys and NZBMatrix ($10 lifetime membership)
I've never needed to go elsewhere.

Kinda missed the point on this one fellas!
You don't want every tom dick and harry using this service or it will get closed¬
God knows it's hard enough to keep a server in a country where it wont get hit.

they're breaking no laws though, they are just linking.....no illegalities going on there

Yeah, but put an ad for this on a mainstream site like HUKD and everyone who uses newzbin has to sign upto a server group. = mass influx of people setting up accounts and telling everyone.
Yeah I know "shut up" lol.

No, I do see your point, more people can be a bonus for a community, but when it comes to things like this, too much exposure could cause issues.

Missing the point of this entirely, for 12p a week, Newzbin means you don't have to find every single part of the file manually, it groups them all together and makes it a lot quicker and easier to browse for new content, the categories are invaluable.

Just topped up with a year for £6.24 or so.

i use newsleech and it shows the large file which you can download the nzb for but if you click the post it will show all the files in that post and you can select what parts you wnat ie without pars etc. i use it on a daily basis but wouldnt mind another if it was more functional. is there something that newsbin does that nesleech doesent?

Missing the point of this entirely, newzleech allows you to search for anything you want to download and set nzb as a search term, meaning you can download a single file which groups it all together. No categories, but you can set up an RSS feed showing items matching a search term, e.g. http://www.newzleech.com/rss.php?n=50&s=Doctor+Who+nzb And it costs- wait- nothing?

I have tried nzb sites but usually I know what I want to download.

go and have a look around the site, if i remeber you can browse it all you like just cant read nfo, or download the nzb as a non member i think.

If you know what files you want then free search engines can be used ok, but for me i guess i like simple and easy. im lazy and like organised things.

i like how i can browse through say books section and look at only english language and of certain type, i may not know of a book but i may see it posted and a quick read of the nfo and a quick look on an indeepndent book review place and find it might be someting id enjoy.

ffs its £6 for the year and its all done for you. Also you can search for your stuff via your client but sometimes its nice to browse, and they really know how to set up a forum so its FAST, CLEAR, and DELIVERS. Its bloody brilliant :-0

if you know what files you like then yes free sites can be easy. but ive gotten so much stuff i didnt know about due to the categorisation of newzbin.
all depends of preference i guess. there is no right or wrong, better or worse just differences i reckon

Ok, just signed up for this, but not used newsleechers before.

Can someone please explain now i've signed up for this what I need to do.

There is NewsLeecher trial version on my computer already which says it has expired. Is this the best bit of software to use or is there other ones out there?

not sure why ppl want to pay for a service when other web sites offer the same for free? ie merlins-portal.net and the other web sites listed on here. They offer the same service as this pay for site does. They all have NZB sections which do the same job. I would check out the websites mentioned on here before paying out, even if it is only 6 quid.

This is a great deal, voted hot.
Been using this site for a few years now.
Dunno why people are voting cold because as offers go this is great.
The other free sites people are mentioning are pale in comparison.
#28
Torrents are well worth staying away from
Im not going to go into info of how i know all this but I speak to about 3 ppl a day that have had there internet cut off due to file sharing via torrents
Newsgroups are the way to go.
The main reason why is that your not "uploading" ..So your not sharing anything = no getting cut of for file sharing :)
#29
ive always used newzbin so am just lazy and got to love the ill have that ..that and that...two clicks and done.
Have used other free sites and newzleech but i cant get on with em...is used wot you happy with and i dont mind paying for it cos is so easy to find stuff and also nice that i can just browse the menu to find old stuff ive forgotten about..

Hot deals is about Cheaper things..to many posts now are getting into flaming wars. To me this is a hot deal...to others its not cos they use other free things.

we could go on about why pay for a news server in the first place when there are torrent sites that you can get them for free on..<<<

Am I the only one who uses the search in Grabit?
Thanks for the merlin recommendation, I have just checked out the site and like it. Added rep :p

I think you're pretty safe, most people won't have a clue what this is or what its for!
#33
you cant compare this to the like of binsearch and the others ive just had a year for £6.24 it makes searching easy for everyone and theres no adverts like the free ones my favorite free site has put a 5 download limit on per day or pay which is alot more than 12p a week alright it may be quicker putting up posts but it doesnt have such a wide choise i think this is a cracking deal and have had a year 400+ days now with no topup.

Ive been using the newsgroups for years and know how it all works but i still have a newzbin account and always have had. Its a small price to pay you can have new posts emailed to you everyday to match your interests no stress

just took a look, dont no what it is, can anyone explaine?

it's a site that allows you to browse and search usenet headers, and charges for the privilege. For searching a server side xpat works just as well (better in fact, as the file is guaranteed to be on your server) as does binsearch.info and newzleech.com

For browsing individual groups newzleech is better.

I suppose that sites that catalogue can be useful, but I can't really see a point to them - and certainly not if they charge.

Been using this for years now ... I've tried all of them and this one is the best for me. Topped up a whole year.

It lists all the pirate software and copyright music, films, etc, available from newsgroup postings. It's for bad people.

Anyone kind out there feel like sending me a pm (or posting if thats legal) a beginners guide to newsgroups? I've been meaning to start using usenet and this seems like a good deal to start with. I need newzbin and what else? Sorry for being a complete newbie.
#39
Is there a free alternative to hitnews.eu ???

I took out the free trial to hitnews (fantastic) and would now have to pay - is there an alternative???

Thanks

There is a member cap anyway - so if they get a lot of new signups it will suspend registration.
