Or so the sign in my local halfrauds stated last night
The professional stuff is good. I'll be getting me one of the 150 peice sets next week. The deal has been on for a while now

This was 199.99, you are getting confused with the 120 piece that was on offer for 89.99. I bought ths one myself and its a bargain. The 1/2 inch rachet alone costs £25.

This is a great bit of kit, highly recommended.

At least 1/2 of these 100+ sets are made up of rarely used torq, different size flat and cross heads etc. that most hands dirty types will already have in their garages. I'm looking for a replacement quality tool kit as my Drpaer set is now 30 years old (they were quality then) but don't need another set of torq, screw heads that I know will round off within the year..

Just my 2p :whistling:

no seriously, i reserved the 150 piece at xmas in blackpool branch at 89.99, but its been 99.99 for ages in there, my mate bought the 150 piece set over 3 years ago, and it was 99.99

these are cracking sets well worth 99.99

Great set of tools and that goes for the whole 'professional' range. With the lifetime warranty (non-moving parts) makes it even sweeter. I think it has been this price for quite some time though. I own the 100 peice myself, and the only difference i can remember seeing are more driver bits. Not quite snap-on tools, but really not far off at all :)

Not sure how much these would work out with the trade card...possibly the same as they are on 'offer' though anyone eligible should consider getting one of these cards!

Hmm, had these just before xmas at half price. Went in to get one and they lifted the bloody offer even though the had the pamphlets in-store saying they were half price. WELL worth it, got one set already and reserved another for a mate. I know there are lots of un-used components in it but its a quality set so will last.

I would disagree with yourself. The professional range is fantastic value and this pack is an "everything in one" box. Yes it will have stuff you tradesmen/long time collectors will already have but thats the point of these. They're a neat collection in one. If you need only a few sockets and decent torque bar to complete your kit then yes, this is a bit of a waste of time.

I bought them to replace my Draper kit which didn't have everything I needed and it was cheaper to buy this set than shop for all the individual components (even in their mini sets!).

As far as them rounding off within a year, I can only assume you are a very, very heavy user. The pro ranges have plenty of strong good reviews, even from tradesmen like yourself. Maybe they might be worth trying before throwing in your 2p?

As your in the market, I also have a my Draper tool set up for sale. I'm based in Oxford if your interested, no point in posting as I'd lose cash. The kits in a very good order bar some rust on the screwdriver bits which'll be gone with some emery cloth. Given me 3 years of good use but after some heavy work on the car engine and borrowing the neighbours on oft occasions, thought I might needed the investment to the Halfords pro 150 pc kit.

Not a heavy user, not even a tradesman, just a home mechanic that does his own spannering (mainly bikes). Just bemuses me when tool companies give you 20+ sockets, screwdriver bits with a drill, another 40+ with a drillset and probably 60 with a socket set. Why not reduce the price or increase the quality and have less "padding"?
Saying that I may pop down the local Halfords for a closer look. Afterall it's only £99 :whistling:
