Forgot to mention likely to be £5.95 if you want it delivered

And i think 3.5% Quidco available (for on-line orders obviously!)

Hope this allows someone to bag a bargain!

Thanks!!!

Thanks. ordered one

I can't believe it. I just bought one from comet on Monday when they had a 15% deal off so i got it for 84.99. Now they reduce it to half price :x

I should be able to get the difference refunded?

Fairly sure this is the one that Argos recently had for half price as well (for 65 pounds) - I picked it up for the kitchen and been very pleased with it. It's very neat in size and the sound is good (bearing in mind the small size), the DAB radio and RDS is very sharp and clear which my family have commented on even those I wouldn't expected to have taken any notice of it! Just make sure you hook the aerial up as it makes a massive difference.

Only real gripe is the lack of saved channels for DAB/RDS, you have to flick through the stations to find the one you want rather than being able to save to presets. If I'm wrong on this, I'd very much like someone to correct me.

See on page 2 - presetting radio stations section.
You can preset up to 20 DAB and 20 FM stations (which is different to the 30 presets which i repeated from the Comet Website in my original post but I'd trust the 'user manual' - click on link below

can anyone with the device confirm that there is no optical in or out ports?
The spec on Comet's website says no to both, but just want to be sure

This has no optical input or output I am afriad. It does have an analogue line in though.

Got one of these last time round, excellent for the price well recommended

I bought one of these from Argos a few months back when they had them on special offer at £49.99 I think it was. It's a basic DAB/CD/FM player. I would say it's definitely overpriced at £89 but for £50 or less then you get what you pay for. It does it's job well, the build quality and components are very cheap and nasty. For £50 this is a decent unit and works well. Don't pay more though if you miss this latest offer :)

Even though this unit feels cheap and well it is, I'm still happy with it and I reckon it's a good buy.
#17
Yup i'm taking it back tomorrow and have ordered another one at the cheaper price

Just moved into my first flat and i'm looking for a not too expensive CD player with DAB and line in for my MP3 player. This seems to fit the bill nicely!!:-D Reviews are good and you can use quidco on store collection. Lovely :-D
#18
This is a great micro for the price! You can plug your MP3 player in the front too! I got it a few months back when Boots sold them for this price and got £10 worth of points on my card with triple points :)
#19
Bought this about 6 months ago, and mostly pleased with it apart from the DAB reception. It cuts out and the whole unit just freezes up - but if I have it positioned elsewhere in the room it's usually fine. At this price you can't go wrong though - especially not when they were selling just the CD/Tape/FM one for around 70 quid not so long back!

Does anyone know if I can connect some bi wired speakers to this? I know some of the Panasonic models allow this
#21
Thanks OP have voted hot. Another Crimbo pressie sorted. Cheers.

I have reserved to collect instore but it did not give me an option to pay for it so i assume i do it instore? I thought it would be like woolworths where you pay for it in on your card and then collect from instore.
#22
Does this have an output so i can wire it through to my amp?
#23
You can not connect an external dab ariel to this unit, so if in a dubious dab reception area I'd say it aint gonna work too well. I went for the next model up in the sony range because of this. Quiet often the dab will not work from switch on and you have to change to fm and then back to dab to kick start it!! Another bum feature (which may not apply to this model) is that when you perform a channel scan you lose all the presets, very annoying.

A .....cassette deck .... quaint.

Do you mean that the antenna is hard wired in and just appears from a hole in the back ? If so have you peered inside to see if there's a socket of some kind on the PCB ?

I know! I've seen these before in the shops at a reasonable price and thought of buying one but was put off by the tape deck. I know you don't need to use it but cassettes are just so cave....

Can anybody confirm if the speakers are physically attached to the unit, or if they can be spaced apart?

Cheeky - I've just picked mine up and can confirm all you are doing is reserving it on-line - you pay for it when you pick it up.

They can be spaced apart. (I've opened the box & they are packed separately to the unit)

Excellent deal:
Most MP3 players have trouble rewinding/forwarding MP3 tracks. BE careful, if you're listening to a track that is hours long, you may not be able to forward/rewind.
Does any1 know if this unit can both forward/rewind?
Thanks

On the sony site the pdf manual shows a plug in aerial for the CMTEH20DAB, which means you could plug in an external aerial.

Does the remote have preset buttons 1 to 10 for easy access?

Some cheap stereo remotes only have Channel Up and Down buttons, which is a pain in the a***. Especially with DAB where you usually have to press another button to confirm your choice.

Comet's pics don't show it.
