You can still live next to Twatsco and have self respect.

What if Tesco built next door to your estate with all the land they have acquired?

Tesco applied to build in my town and the town council planners told them to go screw themselves. :p

Obviously Tesco didn't feel it worth paying backhanders for your town to secure planning :-D

No, an example of how politics is, especially town planners.

and who could blame him - good on him for having more sense than be exploited by those scum.

I live less than 30seconds away from tesco (and asda) but I'd rather catch a train 11miles to a decent food shop. I live in a food desert (lots of supermarkets but very little in the way of quality food) because of supermarkets, the last thing I would do is give them any of my money.

and that's why you live on an overdraft :-D
For the record, I use supermarkets for all my grocery shopping except meat and fish as we have a really good market. There is marked difference in fish from the fish market and meat from a butcher. You will realise some of the supermarket stuff is full of water.

lol not a chance, I have absolutely zero credit history. I've never had credit & I owe nothing, my life is owned by myself and not a bank.. ;>

I suppose I'm lucky to live quite close to a city with plenty of world/continental/asian/african food shops to buy decent food from - lots of people have no choice but plastic supermarket junk. =[

Get a grip the lot of you - I think we need a seperate thread for these inane squabbles!

for tesco.

I'm with the above, why pay double at the corner shop.

I'd rather drive 10 miles and shop at tesco, than pay the RIP-OFF corner shop prices.

Tesco is the best value, best quality store near me, i have tried to support the local only to be ripped off in price and sold inferior produce, fact is most of us aren't lucky enough nice farmers stores local, most of use have rip off shops like McColls and spar that charge £1 for a bottle of water and 90p for a pint of milk. We get ripped off far too much in this country but at least shops like Tesco make it their business to be one of if not the cheapest available.
