I can think of someone else that needs an MOT too ... and I think they will fail.

Anyone got the full list of what is available & when today?
the spanner set was 10am-12noon
the axle stands will be 4pm-6pm
200pce socket set will be 6pm-8pm

Edit: 12noon - 2pm looks like nothing special, other than half price (normal price?) on seclected tool & spanner sets
Halfords Advanced 12 pce Ratchet Spanner set £50 - actually reduced to £40
Halfords Advanced 9 pce Ratchet Spanner set £40 - actually reduced to £35
Halfords 52 pce Aluminium Tool set £40 - actually reduced to £25
Halfords 114 pce Aluminium Tool set £100 - actually reduced to £75

So does anyone know what is coming up 2pm-4pm today?

The 6 drawer tool set is £100 between 2 and 4pm, 20kg load per drawer, so a step up from the £75 one on here earlier 6 drawer

It was designed to be a poke at the untrustworthy commission based people at Halfords (referred to on here as Halfrauds) due to the constant claim unnecessary work is required when in fact it is not. Over your head possibly?

Not over my head, services they offer are just irrelevant to sales on merchandise. I understand that your vehicle failed MOT, too bad, but everyone charges for an MOT whether it is a fail or not. And if cheats fail you, you might look at council run or approved MOT centres. Have a nice day.

You can book an MOT at Halfords for £29.99
http://www.halfordsautocentres.com/mot/mot

Pass or fail, it beats me how they would then charge you £50

If your vehicle fails an MOT test, then it must be repaired and retested prior to a valid certificate being issued, in accordance with VOSA guidelines:-

Where a vehicle fails the MOT and is left with the testing station to repair no retest fee is chargeable.
If the vehicle fails on a range of items detailed on the VOSA website (or available from the Autocentre) and is taken away to be repaired and returned by the end of the following working day a retest is required but no fee is chargeable.
If the vehicle is removed from the Autocentre and presented back within 10 working days then a retest needs be undertaken for which a fee is charged equal to half of the initial VOSA MOT test fee charged.
In all other cases a full MOT test is required and will be charged at the prevailing rate.
If your vehicle fails a retest then the vehicle will have to have a full MOT test when presented again.

If your vehicle fails the MOT test and you wish to appeal against it you should ask the MOT testing station for a VT17 form. If your appeal is successful the fee or part of it will be returned, but you should not have your vehicle repaired before the appeal is considered as any change may affect the outcome of the appeal.

Council MOT Test Centres in UK

A good tip for avoiding MOT failures is to take your car to an MOT station that does not do repairs. Many councils have their own MOT test centers for council vehicles but the law says that they must be open to the public. Using a council run MOT test center means that they do not have an incentive to fail your car on the grounds that they can get work out of you. There is also no incentive to fail your car for faults that don't exist. You may miss out on a 'Cheap MOT deal' but general the pass rate will be a lot higher and the work needed a lot lower.

Advanced 200 Piece Socket is it's usual £175, not £135

Same company same staff, never been to Halfrauds for an MOT as not matter how new the car was it would fail on something. Not to worry that it was over your head.
