If you look at the previous sale prices, you can safely assume that £79 is a made-up and over-inflated price :) Bit like a furniture house, really (now defunct MFI springs to mind)

The Halfords Professional stuff is actually quite good. Not quite Snap On etc but close enough. The lifetime guarantee is worth something surely. Voting hot.

These do often come up at this price however it is very good stuff and as above a lifetime warranty is well worth having. Also I don't think they normally have the screwdriver in the kit at this price. A large proportion of my tools are Halfords Pro.

The 'common' price shouldn't bother you, if you are looking for good quality spanners at a realistic price these are a good buy.

Hot from me.

Lifetime warranty is a real con. No moving parts covered by the warranty, basically only the handles are covered (as if they would snap).

Have you ever claimed then?

Don't need to. Just check the terms and conditions.

So many gullible peope just accept crap like this at face value. Always pays to dig a bit deeper. Just like you should have before posting your reply!

I have claimed on the warranty myself, and I am happy to report that I've had nothing but excellent service. No messing around, take the tool in store and it's immediately replaced without question.

If you take the time to digest the T&C's before slagging them off -

HALFORDS ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL HAND TOOLS COME WITH A LIFETIME GUARANTEE.
Should a Halfords Advanced Professional Hand Tool fail whilst being used for the purpose and in the manner for which it was designed, it will be inspected and replaced. Simply return the product to your nearest Halfords store with proof of purchase and we will arrange a replacement for you.
Proof of purchase is required to validate the Lifetime Guarantee.
Misuse of the product will immediately invalidate the Lifetime Guarantee.
Moving parts are not covered for wear and tear under this guarantee.
Discontinued items will be replaced with an equivalent product in terms of use and quality.
This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

Ok so they aren't covered for wear and tear, no problem as not many warranties will ever cover you for wear and tear but if the moving parts fail due to manufacturing defects then of course it's covered - for life!!

I suppose every new car warranty is a con to you as well, because I can assure you that you won't be covered for wear and tear - ever.

Please make sure you understand the T&C's before spouting off eh. :whistling:

And just to sweep up the again entirely unfounded and flawed comments in your edit - of course I checked the T&C's.

I am as already stated an owner and regular user of Halfords tools, I am also an engineer so I think I know a little about how to use them and therefore feel I am entirely able to make the correlation between good service and a flaky set of T&C's.

If I thought the warranty was a con then why would I post that I've had tools replaced under it and had good service from both Halfords and their Pro tools. If you were in the trade you'd qualify for the Halfords Trade Card which entitles you to a discount on the tools and would even further make you appreciate the value of them.

May as well just admit you made a stupid and unfounded comment to what was, before you turned up, a worthwhile post by the OP

I guess you're just like a large proportion of the members here that spout off without any substance and vote cold on a whim. If life's too short for you then don't bother with the unhelpful comments.

Good price for good quality stuff, tho never usually far from these prices anyway. I have loads of tools, snap on, britool, facom, bahco, Halfords etc. I must say that the Halfords Pro range can hold its own up against some of the leading top quality makes.

I have had some of the halfords pro tools for 20 years. I have made claims for broken tools and never had a problem with them replacing for me.

A very good quality set of ratchet spanners, had the 12mm spanner replaced under warranty when the ratchet failed. I use these on the ship so they get pretty well abused! The 19mm spanner has often been used with a bit of scaffold bar for extra leverage!

You are a complete an utter ******, and a Halfords apologist.
How the feck would you know if I have, or have not, a Halfords Trade Card. Go away you prat and get a life. This forum amazes me, it is so full of idiots like you.

Seems you're the only one complaining about the Warranty situation, and yet oddly enough you're the one who's not ever had a tool replaced or even attempted to have one replaced - Really, who is the prat??

So I'll refer you to my earlier comments and suggest that unless you have any useful input you shouldn't waste your life making comments on things you clearly have no idea about.

62.5% discount, that looks about right. Halfords put silly prices on their Pro tools, you just have to bide your time and wait for a big discount.

Just popped by again as I was a bit bored. Noticed you had opened your mouth again and spouted more nonsense. What a **** you are. Halfords sell crap and only idiots like you buy it.
