I've been using Halfords professional range tools for a while now and they are top quality . They also come with a lifetime guarantee :)
#5
Cheers for that, does anybody know how much it is with a trade card

Which is worthless should you need to call upon it given it does not include moving parts and that is what usually goes in any ratchet tool

I would also disagree with that. I have a few Halfords tools and they are generally very good quality. Any one know who actually makes them for Halfords?

You have one discount or the other so if you used your trade car it would be more expensive!

why does this annoyingly not include the very common 14mm?
#10
and according to the packaging you need proof of purchase to make a claim on the warranty...

they are good quality tools though :)

I agree ,

the Halfords Professional 33 piece Metric Ratchet Spanner Set is on offer from time to time, got mine for £39 a few weeks ago. . It has 12 spanners 8 - 19 mm

halfords profession and draper expert are the same tools just branded differently!

Here's a different double flexible head set which includes 14mm for the same sort of price level http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_170491_langId_-1_categoryId_165572:)

Just 5 spanners, but 10 sizes covered.

I've also got various Halfords Professional tools (including a couple of sets of ratchet spanners) and so far (oldest stuff is about 5 years old) they've been pretty good, both for DIY car repairs and at work (frequent machinery maintenance/fabrication etc). I haven't even snapped any of the hex/screwdriver bits so far. I think they have about the right balance of price vs quality - if I want tools I'm certain will last a lifetime with warranty, I buy Snap-On, but it's very expensive to replace when somebody steals them! Magpies don't seem to like Halfords Professional tools so much (touch wood), and that's why I tend to buy them for work!
Anyway, back to the main point - this looks like a pretty good deal, heat added!

Hi I bought the 1/4 socket set last week for £14.99 which was on offer but used my trade card, brought it down to £14.23. Not a big saving but if you have a card it's worth a try on this.

You get discount on the original price. Sometimes this is less than the offer, but in other situations like this one, its most definatly not.

lifetime guarrantee is onlt on the body of the spanner unfortunately, not on the the ratchet, considering its that ratchet that alway gos first, pretty pointless guarrantee.

I agree 14mm is a very common size and the set with ten sizes and flexible heads is much more useful.
It’s rather odd that this should have reached 316 degrees when the better set only reached 73 degrees. Oh well that’s HUKD.

The spanners at least are rebranded Gearwrench. How do I know? Two of my Halfords Professional ratchet spanners are stamped 'Gearwrench'!
Personally for the money I'd go for this socket set for an extra £5 http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_525167_langId_-1_categoryId_165572
