Halfords autocentre Air Con service £44.10

This seems much better than the in store Halfords air con recharge. HAC are actually pretty good IMO and they will likely have some of the best air con machinery that is programmed for your vehicle. Does take around 2 hours apparently though.

I think the anti bacterial clean is unnecessary and you can buy anti bacterial air con fogger cans off ebay for £7.95

There isnt one near to me, however there is a private/indie garage near me that does it for £40, but I have had bad experience there in the past so dont want to give them my business. On the other hand I once took my Skoda Fabia in to my local HAC as the steering wasnt straight, they had it for 2 hours and told me that there was nothing they could do as they didnt have the equipment for a geometry check and they suggested somewhere else that did.

They didnt charge me anything. A local VAG specialist told me that it needed a new traction control arm, I knew it didnt as it had only just had one put on. Just because the place has Halfords in the name doesn't mean it is a bad garage. And like I said they will have up to date automated a/c machinery, I would rather a computer with my reg number controlled how much coolant/gas/oil was put in than someone judging it themselves that might not necessarily be an A/C expert. If Halfords do mess it up however I will have more chance of them putting it right and taking responsibility than the cash struck indie garage down the road. Thats how I see it anyway..

Would never use a halford auto centre ever again
They damaged my car
Cracked windscreen then failed the mot for it
No cracks when I dropped it off

Thought it was just my deal everyone was hating on, turns out pretty much every air con deal of all time has been either voted cold or never got past 70 degrees on HUKD. Strange, strange people.

Had mine done today by Halfords Auto centre but i opted for the Anti bac clean as well, did it as it was in for an MOT anyway. Passed with no advisories and the air con is ice cold 8)

Perfect service!

Perhaps air con deals get voted cold because of the nature of air con? Brrr cold
