Just thinking that myself, lol.:-D

its not really a deal, its a freebie, or £1.00 off oil which is already over priced at Halfords.

Why is this getting hot votes? Halfords are notorious for charging over the odds for everything, especially oil. £1 off is an absolute joke.

ok , a callenge it is young skywalker.

Battery - if car works your battery works, if car does not start/starter motor does not tick over that your battery is either flat or not connected properly, seek advise from your vehicle owners handbook as it will all easily explained.

Wiper Blades - When raining turn them on, they should work. If they do not leave the screen clear after wiping the rubber has most likely degraded and new wipers are needed.

Bulbs - Turn lights, indicators on, walk around car to check. get a friend/family to walk around car to check brake and reverse lights.

Oil level - Explained already

Screenwash - activate washer using in-car control, if water appears you have screenwash, if it doesnt use the owners handbook to find where to top it up.

Seriously though, all these are check questions you need to do on your driving test these days its unbelievable that people need to leave there front drive to do this stuff. With petrol at £1 per litre then unless you live at halfords then this does cost something just for them to say.

1 Battery £50, 3 Wiper Blades £30, 6 Bulbs £15, 1 Oil Change £30, 1 Bottle of screenwash £5 and being ripped off at halfords..........pricesless. For everything else theres mastercard for extending your overdraft to shop at halfords.

Eurocarparts is an excelent place for service parts such as air filers, oil filters, wipers etc etc.

Last MOT, they had the cheek to put in a litre of oil and tried to charge me £9.99 for the privilege :x

Save your money, Halfords are way over priced on oils, car batteries etc, your local car motor factors are much cheaper and you get better advice from them on most car problems.

Halfords charge you for fitting wiper blades, where, I work, we never charge because our mark up is more the enough.
