I purchased some halloumi cheese which is advertised instore as £2.28 each using the 3 for 2 offer at tesco, and just noticed that it scanned through as £2 each.

plus I used a £1 off when you spend £4 on cheese tesco voucher I found in their leaflets instore.

So overall, they cost £1 each.

Never had halloumi but always fancied trying it, the problem is my boyfriend told me it was REALLY salty. I hate things that are too salty, like penne state pretzels.

So, how salty is halloumi really? Was he just trying to stop me eating too much cheese? (_;)

is halloumi easy to slice?

Its stored in its natural juices with salt water so its pretty salty but you can wash it in fresh water to take some of that away ;)
#13
as long as you slice it in thick pieces it is :)

Not in the north it's not, cheap Hellim is about 2 euros max, might be worth a trip accross the border for a cheese cruise :)

Gonna have to have a look tomorrow.

I think I'll stock up for BBQ season if it has a good shelf life (which it should).

Try having some thick slices of this grilled with a grilled portobello mushroom as a burger. Bloody amazing it is.

I was in Tesco's earlier - they only had spicy varieties of halloumi.

May I ask the Op if it was just the "plain" halloumi that was bought and scanned at the £2?

Its all about the BBQ!

Thanks OP.
