Not a patch on the original, but this is the cheapest i have seen this for.

Inspired by Carpenter's 1978 original, Rob Zombie's Halloween focuses on the early years of the young Michael Myers. After going on a murdering rampage in his home-town Michael is sentenced to 17 years of incarceration at the Smith's Grove Sanitarium maximum-security mental facility where he is treated by noted child behaviorist Dr. Samuel Loomis - the only person who can truly understand Michael's evil nature.

Now, 17 years later, Michael escapes from the mental facility on Halloween and begins a murderous trek back to Haddonfield to continue his killing streak and seek resolution to events from his past.

In Haddonfield, Michael begins stalking a high school girl, Laurie Strode, and her friends, Annie and Lynda. When Dr. Loomis, now a successful author for his book on Michael, hears of his escape, he enlists the help of Haddonfield's Sheriff Brackett to find and put an end to Michael's reign of terror.

I actually was very surprised by this having seen one of Rob Zombies other films, Devil's Rejects, which quite frankly is one of the worst films I have ever seen.
I thought it was going to be woeful but was actually very good and quite creepy due to it focusing more than the original on how Michael Myers grew up!

Absolutely abysmal movie. Even if you could argue that learning the back story of Michael Myers somehow doesn't spoil the spookyness of the character, you can't really argue that the stalking of the girl isn't ruined by it coming so late in the movie (by the time the story should be in full swing already). Well you can, but you would be wrong.

GF and I are big fans of both the original Halloween and Devil's Rejects/House of 1000 Corpses and expected good things from this at the cinema. At least we got a good laugh at how truly awful it was...

Haven't voted though - a decent price for anyone who likes the film...

Bad movie or not. This is one of the grizzliest and violent horror franchise reduxs. Fans of gorefests will not be dissapointed. Unlike the tepid toned down Michael Bey efforts like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th.
