not confirmed as PAL compatible yet. Best waiting till they confirm it will work on PAL consoles, it will be a cracking deal then.

Not voting either way till that happens.

Good find. Was waiting for the price to go below 30 quid.

Will take a chance with import duty etc.
#10
Was just about to click the order button but it says "Chinese Voice Only!"...Will see how this one runs I think. Great price if it does all lt's meant too though.
#11
Just added 'Chinese voice only !' to the listing.Sounds dodgy !?!.
#12
Chinese one in stock woth region free.
#13
Yes they changed the rules after I ordered this and now theres an english version and a chinese version. THe version I order was the asian version.

Obviously they sent the chinese version, which is unplayable.

Sent them an email we wait and see.
#14
looks like an Asian version with English language is there now

looks like the english version is region locked

looks like they want us to pay full price for this in europe, cheeky or what
#15
Edit, seems i was wrong and the english version isnt region free after all.
#16
They also sent me the Chinese version.

Very, very disappointed.Alarm bells started ringing as soon as I opened the jiffy bag and it had NTSC-J on it.

Almost didnt open it but after checking the website again and seeing it WAS region free decided to give it a go.

No option to change to English languae and Chinese jibber jabber starts to annoy after 30 seconds.

28 quid seemingly wasted.

Gutted :-(

Edit: Just had another search of their website and the only version of Halo 3 that is region free is the Chinese version which I/we already have.
#17
But they never said chinese only when I ordered this, if they had of done, I wouldn't of ordered.

Can anyone confirm that the original listing didnt say chinese only? What did it say originally?

Cant say I will risk ordering stuff from them again if they dont refund me on this one.
#18
hmm not sure how you can find out that the website didnt have "chinese version" on there before...you can always email and see if they are sympathetic.

Might want to wait to see if play-asia do have english version halo 3s before jumping the gun...

or get it in the UK for 31 quid delivered - its only a few quid more.
#19
I know it didnt have chinese version as my order status says asia version. Its whether the listing had mandarin only like it does now or not. Seems from earlier posts that it was added at a later date.
#20
Well you will order it when it is unconfirmed.......why risk it for the sake of £5 ? (and thats excluding if you get hit on import tax !)

i agree.

i'd rather spend money on a product thats guaranteed to be compatible on my system rather than take the risk.

It was confirmed region free. The timing was as follows:

They confirmed the region on 25th as posted here.
I order the region free "asia version"
they then post "manadarin language only" on the details
They then change "halo 3 (asia version) to "Halo 3 (chinese version)
They send me halo 3 (chinese version) without telling me.

They have never done this before, its not the region free thats the problem but the language. As far as Im concerned they have never had to confirm the language before.

All I want to know was if the listing had always said "manadarin only" or did they change it to say mandarin only after I ordered?

I emailed Play-Asia not long after I took delivery of the game.I just recieved a reply as follows:

"Thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com.

Once again we are sorry about this case. We regret that the Asian version
shipped out currently is Chinese in voice only. Please be kindly confirmed
that we will receive the replacement in English voice of normal version in
near future. After our consideration, we can also accept the return of
opened game as long as the game is still in very good condition. We will
inform you at once for any updated news in this case. Please kindly be a
bit more patient in this circumstance. We are sorry for the inconvenience
to you this time.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Joe

Hmm and I got this,

"
Thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com.

Normally, we will not accept return due to this problem. But after
considering your case, we can accept your return this time if the game is
still in very good condition and without any scratches on the disc. But
please be reminded we can only refund you the product cost with a
restocking fee of US$5-10 (depending on its condition) as store credit,
excluding the shipment fee and you also need to pay for the returning
shipment fee. Do you accept this arrangement?

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Tony
Play-Asia.com"

So are they deducting a restocking fee from you or are they going to send you a region free english voice version as soon as they get one?

I think id rather wait for an english one. Would there be any chance you could PM me your order number so I can email them and ask for the same deal as you?

I think I asked for a refund to be honest as there didn't seem to be a region free game available to exchange with, but if there will be one id rather have that.
