Was in Cash Converters Fareham today and much to my surprise saw the new halo title for £8.99. I can upload my recipt later if people want proof. Not sure if it's regional though as quite often the same shop has different prices for the same thing.

I think its safe to say that this was a balls up by an employee. Cant see it being that price anywhere else.

Well Done though, Lucky =)

Was thinking this, was still £39.99 at HMV earlier too :)

Yeah, Cash Converters are like that - they massively overprice dated junk and, occasionally, underprice recent stuff.

I bought a lovely little Philips Go gear 4Gb - brand new in its bubble packet - for £12 in there a year ago when Argos had them in their sale for £30.

Not exactly a deal as you say your self that prices are never constant. Seen it myself many times in Cash Converters/Wizard/Generator. Staff seem to make up prices as they go along. Bit like eBay really.

You have to first rely on someone selling their copy of Halo Reach to Cash Converters for about £5 (only someone who doesn't know the value would do this - parent or thief) and secondly hope that the staff randomly price it at £8.99.

Did they have more than 1 copy?

was the only copy in I think, didn't check completely though!

Obviously a mistake; some employee has thought it's Halo 3 or something. Not in any way a deal.

There all priced different in different shops. My one always bought xbox 360 games for £4 and sold them for £8 whatever the game. I worked there system for 6 months by buying and selling before they noticed :)

They probably mixed up the price they offered skint person for it, with the price to sell it at, so they probably just sold it for what they got it for.

congrats OP!

yep, lucky one OP. I had a look in my local and it was more expensive than getting it preowned from game/gamestation!

To be honest i was just thinking is this the latest one or the previous :| easy mistake to make if you don't know your games that well

Nice! I had a similar bit of luck other week with COD MW2 £7.99 in Cash Generator and my friend got the same deal but for the Hardened Edition in Cash Converters back in July. It is pure luck but the people who rate cold are just jealous that they did not get there first. It is a case of just nipping in when you pass by and you might get lucky.

Not at all. The people who vote cold recognise that there is little point at all having something as a hot deal which essentially says "you might as well check every high street store on any given day in case you spot a misprice that is subsequently honoured". It helps no one, and certainly does not warrant being a deal on this site.
