"Halo: Reach, developed exclusively for Xbox 360, by acclaimed developer Bungie, is the blockbuster prequel to the landmark "Halo" video games franchise. "Halo" is one of the biggest video games series in history, and is the top selling franchise on Xbox. "Halo: Reach" is the culmination of 10 years of award winning "Halo" games that have raised expectations for what can be achieved in a video game. "Halo: Reach" tells the tragic and heroic story of Noble Team, a group of Spartans, who through great sacrifice and courage, saved countless lives in the face of impossible odds. The planet Reach is humanity's last line of defense between the encroaching Covenant and their ultimate goal, the destruction of Earth. If it falls, humanity will be perched on the brink of destruction"

Close tie between this and Halo 3 for my favourite one. Is that controversial?
[HUKD Deal Editor]#2
Couple of questions, because I'm a bit fick at times. Don't you need Halo The MasterChief Collection to play this on Xbox One, or has that criteria been removed?

Also, isn't this a £3.99 purchase via The MasterChief Collection?

I think that was the ODST campaign for Halo 3, but this is considered a complete game for 360/one not DLC :)

I don't think that's controversial, and to be honest, I'd probably be inclined to agree. 3 and Reach are both great games. It will always be Halo: Combat Evolved for me, if not just for nostalgic purposes. I played it again recently on X1 and loved it as much as I did originally. I'm making my way through 2 at the moment before I dive on the great Halo 3. Happy times ahead :)

You've got me thinking about something I didn't think I even needed now :D

I'm going to have a look around and compare some prices. Reach (I can't believe I forgot about it, it really is a great game) will complete my digital Halo catalogue (if we're not counting Wars, which is due a Definitive Edition any time soon). So thanks for that :(

Haha my bad :(

Because I preordered Wars 2 I have Wars Definitive so I was in the same boat: must... complete... collection. And thought the Marketplace price was too high and this seemed the best comparatively

Yes, preowned can be bought for c. £3, so a cold deal from me ...

CeX, £3 - https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=885370164114
Amazon, from £3.45 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B002BSH9JY/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

Any you can use it on more than one console that way, and it has some resale value.

This and Halo war and backward compatible and ODST and the spartan thing are £3.99 on the collection.

This and war I got really cheap in CEX...

Reach is one of the worst performing XO back-compats (compared to its X360 original). See Digital Foundry's analysis:

Happy times indeed! Insane amount of value in the Master Chief collection (when they finally got it in a functional state!).

To be honest, I only joined the party at Halo 3. So though I played the first game for a bit on Xbone last year, it was fairly 'meh' for me. The nostalgia factor just wasn't there and having played newer and mechanically better games before it, I suppose that really prejudiced me against the original. I hated ODST and thought Halo 4 was good but not great (you really felt the absence of Bungie). Never played 2 or 5.

My God the number of hours I pumped into Halo 3 and Reach multiplayers... the only real multiplayer games I've taken seriously, FPS or otherwise! Except maybe The Last of Us and Killing Floor, but even then not nearly with as much time investment as Halo.

They were simply, for me and in my opinion, revolutionary 'epic single player campaign' and multiplayer shooters. An old formula just done much better than I'd ever experienced.

Man, this is making want to play it again! Or better yet, turn back time to 2007/2008!

Apparently it's perfectly playable now, they've fixed a bunch of issues recently.

Why is this so cold?

Because its so much more expensive than pre-owned. I thought it was a good deal for digital, ah well :D

Good deal for digital, ignore the cold votes.

Probably due to the whole "it was on games with gold x amount of time ago" argument too X) Not voting either way, bit steep for the game in general but if you must have it digitally cheapest by far.
