Cheapest I've seen it, £44.99 with £2 off if you have prime.

Although this is the physical PC edition, it simply has a code in the box for the play anywhere version (as well as installation disc's for the PC version).

You just redeem the code as you would any other Xbox Live code.

On amazon page:

Play Anywhere
This is a Digital version of Halo Wars 2 which you can install via physical media on Windows 10 (64 bit). This Digital version of Halo Wars 2 is an Xbox Play Anywhere game. During installation, you will be directed to redeem a code for Halo Wars 2 on the Windows Marketplace using your Microsoft Account. From there, Halo Wars 2 will be available to install on any Xbox One or Windows 10 device that you sign in to using that same Microsoft Account.

Not sure why being voted cold. £45 for XB1 and PC version of Halo Wars 2, Halo Wars Definitive Edition and the Season Pass is damn good and a far better price than pretty much any season pass + brand new game combo these days.

Game is great too, been having a great time with my friends. But we were big fans of the first.

I've voted it hot. I can't find it cheaper anywhere
#3
Think people voting cold as they don't realise its Xbox as well, thinking its just PC.
#4
Is the Definitive Edition the souped up version of the first game?

So you get both games, plus DLC, for Xbone AND PC.

Have heat, good sir.
#5
This is £64.99 on Microsoft store loads of heat from me thanks

Bit salty personally. Thought my £52 preorder was good! X) All the more reason to be against preorders, wasn't going to but friends roped me in (whom I haven't played with yet...). This was £65 the other day so I'm wondering if it's a price match with argos.

I put my preorder in on Thursday morning so to be honest the fact I had it early Friday I can't complain too much. But the extra £7 burns a little. I have put 20 hours mind so there's that haha. Problems with late deciding I think.

Is it possible to download this to Xbox and then sell on the pc version?

You need the code the activate the game, once the code has been used the disc's are useless.

only question is will a Windows 10 code work with game sharing on Xbox, or will it only play when using the account redeemed on?

Yep. It just redeems on your account as if you bought it digitally, obviously you can't game share on Windows 10 itself but Xbox game sharing is fine.

If you want to play the game on PC the game needs to be redeemed on your account.

I game share with a mate and he can play on Xbox only which makes sense.

I really don't understand the pricing of these things... Why is this (Windows 10 plus XBox One, Ultimate edition) £46.99 while amazon has the (XBox One plus Windows 10, Ultimate Edition) at £64.99 Here...

Isn't these two basically the same thing, or am I missing something?

This is a "physical" copy, for some reason its been dropping. Reckon they just want to clear stop ASAP, as far as I'm aware they actually cancelled this edition of the game in most regions. No clue why though.

I wouldn't bet on this including the Xbox One edition. Physical games are excluded from Play Anywhere.

Well you are wrong, this is not the physical Xbox One edition, it's the Physical PC version.

If you actually looked into it you would find this is Play Anywhere as it's a digital code you get.

Even your own link confirms this is Play Anywhere.

I'm currently living in Spain. If I get this sent to my Dad's in the UK can he just send me the code? I don't need the discs.

Quoted from THQ themselves
In addition, purchases of the physical retail release of Halo Wars 2 on Windows 10 PC will grant digital access to the Xbox One version via Xbox Play Anywhere.

Yep, theres a little credit card thing and the 25 digit code is on the back, not even necessary to take the discs out of the box if you dont want too.

Yeah you can do that, I just redeemed the code and downloaded the game to both Xbox One and PC, couldn't be bothered messing around with the discs.

Ordered. Missed out on the cdkeys deal the other week. Cheers for the info.

Good game I would recommend for Halo fan but if your RTS fan I would be cautious as the game isn't polished yet (Typical Creative Assembly).

Pros:
Graphic and game-play is great!!!
Story is interesting especially as a halo fan.

Cons
micro-transaction for random cards that level up (really not fan of gacha system previously seen on gears of war 4).
Multiplayer matches are too small for my liking, I prefer chaotic 5vs5 matches.
BUGGGGGGS GALORE (nothing gamebreaking but hopefully they will iron out in later patches)

brilliant game, been playing on laptop. it's going to have longevity as well. the Halo Wars redux is nicety done as well. well worth £45 as also includes a session pass.
