Plenty in stock at my local tesco, but you do get what you pay for with this. The star 62 is much better but for an extra 60p you can get the star 63 which is 166cm tall, however as its from an Amazon marketplace seller i cant paste the link here ;-). I have tried all 3 of them and went with the star 63 in the end.

Great little tripod for occasional use.
#14
not bad for a beginner or very occasional use, but generally speaking they're garbage.
#15
Very, very poor quality tripods - they shake in a slight breeze and the heads do not pan or tilt smoothly.
#16
I'm looking for a tripod for my new video camera, to film my wedding and take on honeymoon, so I need something decent. I've heard this might not be great, so can anyone suggest a decent mid range tripod suitable for travelling?
#17
very poor quality, these are just not stable enough and you will be very disapointed.
#18
If these aren't very good, are there any good entry level tripods that don't break the bank you could recommend to a SLR beginner?
#19
The build quality on these are very poor. OK for use once in a while but wont take any hammer. I've been through two of these cheap hama tripods but went for a manfrotto 718B instead. Can usually find one for £30. I know its 3 time the cost but its 10x the build quality.

Do yourselves a favour, bypass the cheap and cheerful and go straight for a manfrotto. . . They are expensive, mine was about £100 and another £50 for the head, but it is the dogs b***ocks. . If you cant afford that then they do some nice midrange tripods with the head built in. . You really will notice the difference and it will last you 20 years.

If you buy this it will get you going no problem, but I guarantee in a month or so you will be giving it to your auntie or mate, and be looking to upgrade. . . .

There are some good deals on ebay, I got my tripod and head on there brand new at substantial discount. . .

Cant knock this for occasional use though for the price, dont let me put you off it if you will rarely use it, it will do the job. . .

I bought one of these from Tesco last year for my Sony A200, took it to America with me, used it a few times and the head fell off.
Pan or tilting the head is a nightmare.

I'm going to invest in a manfrotto now summer is on its way..

Is any of these good ?
