Worth noting that these will quickly scratch the paintwork as grit gets between roof and inflatable bar if you're not careful.

Even with the pads, I can't see the paintwork being untouched/undamaged, it's kinda like using a (stupid looking) bonnet bra. And the weight of the item you are transporting is now being supported by the thin steel roof rather than the proper fixing points - large dents anyone?

It's all good if you don't actually like your car.

Not sure why this deal isn't hotter, it's a great price.

I've managed to put 3 kayaks on a pair of these without the boats touching the car roof. On a hire car the scratching roof is less of an issue as they will never notice.

Looks pretty good for caryying a rigid kayak.
