Box Set Comprises:

Red Dragon: The first and most terrifying chapter in the Hannibal Lecter Trilogy. Anthony Hopkins returns in his finest and most chilling performance yet, as the malevolent Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

FBI agent Will Graham (Edward Norton, Fight Club) is called out of early retirement to catch a serial killer known as "The Tooth Fairy." To stop the brutal murders from continuing, Graham must first let Lecter inside his head. Prepare to be disturbed as Graham confronts the brilliantly sinister Lecter in this dark and heart-pounding thriller. With an outstanding cast including Oscar Nominees Ralph Fiennes, Emily Watson and Harvey Keitel plus Mary Louise Parker and Philip Seymour Hoffman. To understand the origin of evil, you must first go back to the beginning.

The Silence of the Lambs: One of the most shocking, compelling and diabolical crime thrillers ever made is even more delectable on Blu-Ray! Including in depth documentaries about the film's journey from page to screen, director's commentary, generous servings of deleted scenes, still photos and outtakes - and much more.

This powerful, five-time-Academy Award winner will chill you to the bone. When FBI Agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) is assigned a case involving a monstrous serial killer, she seeks counsel from an imprisoned cannibalistic psychiatrist - Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), whose fascination with the young woman is as great as his hunger for murder. As their relationship develops, Starling must confront her own demons - and an evil so powerful that she may not have the courage or strength to stop it!

Hannibal: Ten years have passed since FBI agent Clarice Starling faced the ingenious Dr. Hannibal Lecter... ten years of watching, wondering and waiting. But now the wait is over. The sophisticated killer re-emerges in Florence, Italy, ready to entice Clarice into their old game of cat-and-mouse.

Yet she isn't the only one interested in capturing him. Another mind with a dubious motive - ravenous vengeance - also wishes to stake his claim to the enigma that is Hannibal. But of these three brilliant minds, whose cunning will prevail? Only one thing is certain.

As I mentioned just last week when this item was £17.95 at Zavvi.com:

This year, 2011, is the 20th anniversary of the release of "The Silence of the Lambs". (Yes; that makes me feel a lot older too!)

With the sudden drop in price of the box(ed) sets, I am wondering if a new compilation is due or, at least, a re-issue of "The Silence of the Lambs" with additional footage/features.

Has anybody heard if this anniversary is going to be commemorated with a revised release?

This post has kind of been over shadowed by the previous one!

I have read what you posted a few times now & I still do not think I understand what you were trying to say.

isn't there a fourth one...hannibal rising?

so perhaps a new box set is coming out, thus the drop in price...hmmm.

There's also Manhunter - the original adaptation of Red Dragon. So there are five Hannibal Lecter films in total. They were all produced by Dino de Laurentiis, except for The Silence of the Lambs, so if that's included in this boxset there are obviously no rights issues with including them together. It would be nice to see a boxset of all of them, especially as I never got around to getting Manhunter - Special Edition on DVD.
Why is this expired? I know it says Valentines day offer only, but currently it can still be ordered at this price...
