Massive Bargain.

Very very cheap for a 22" hdcp tft. Voted Hot, think I might a couple myself! HDMI would come in handy for conencting up games consoles etc. Pair it with one of these (http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/88440) and you are all set.

Misco have it a bit more expensive - but there's a lot more pictures, some nice close up ones of the connectors for those that are interested:

#20
Got the Hanns-G 19" widescreen monitor from Amazon a while back. first one was rejected but have been delighted with the replacement model!
#21
Really good buy but why do they keep wasting time on inbuilt speakers 2 x 1W pointless.
#22
Hot Hot Hot!
Rated Hot, Rep Given, bought and paid for (got SuperSaver, and I've already sold my 19" Widescreen I bought about 6 months ago after having seen it on here (the Acer that's about £100 at Amazon, a friends bought it for £50 as its in perfect condition :) ).
#23
Any chance of using 360 with this?
#24
yes, you can use the xbox360 VGA cable.

anyone know if its hdcp enabled? otherwise the hdmi port is pointless. i have emailed hannspree to see what they say.

i ask because iwant to have my pc/ps3 connected to it. anyone tried it?

Scan also have this monitor for £154.97 + postage

and according to their site it does not have HDCP..

From the Misco photos it looks like the speakers are on the back... interesting. They probably wouldn't be much good for anything other than Windows noises, but then you don't have to plug them in if you don't need them. Though my kids use the built-in speakers on their Digimate monitors for games, and they seem perfectly happy.

Not tried it with HD source yet, but DVD's look good.

Only complaint is the 'G' power light which is too bright, so I have covered it with a piece of paper.

You need to set the resolution to 1680 x 1050 for normal viewing.

Very happy with it. :-D

Hello,

Can someone who has received there Hanns comment on the following so i can decide if it is right for me.

1. I read the buyer review on NewEgg who implied the Hanns was very poor for displaying text. This is very important for me & for this reason i have stuck to a flat 21" Sony CRT.

Cons: Very poor text quality even at native resolution. A general blurriness on anything with high detail. Some hot pixels. I am not particularly picky, but after a few hours of working on text based documents with this monitor my eyes hurt.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16824254024&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&SelectedRating=-1&Page=1

2. How is it with gaming ? Can it handle fast paced games without ghosting/bluriness ? If there is some bluriness/ghosting to what degree 1 to 5 - where 5 is really bad. I want to use Hanns with PS3 & PC.

Thanks

Thanks

1 - text is good, but is poor on anything but native res. i realise it wont be as good. but this is resizing VERY poorly. can post picture if you want.

2 - played ps3 on it. had an issues to start with "image out of range" but then tried on my other monitor, set it to 720p, plugged back into hannsg.....fine. will accept up to 1080p (which looks good).
1080i looks good, 720p has the above mentions poor resizing unfortunately.

3 - see attached photo. one is a black .bmp displayed in windows picture and fax viewer, the other is the screen off. exact same exposure. apologies about the blur, im not steady enough for 1/10s exposure. very good blacks in my opinion.

1) Text is perfect at it's native resolution of 1680 x 1050, but if you want lower resolutions then it could be an issue for some people.

2) Have not got any fast games to try, but it plays DVD's fine via VGA, and BBC HDTV looks great via HDMI without any motion blur.

3) The blacks are black, so no problem there

The wallpaper comes with Windows Vista, at least it does with the Ultimate version.

Thank you, it did! His method was too convoluted for me but I will buy an audio splitter and that should do the trick I suspect. Hope so anyway.

Thanks a lot

thanks mecoconuts.

right, im gonna send this monitor back, the appaling performance at anything but 1680*1050 does not lend this monitor to gaming at all....i'm not talking general blurriness due to scaling, this monitor has scaling artifacts out the wazoo.

would encourage anyone considering this, to just pay more and get something decent.

that said, if you will only need it for desktop work (only at 1680*1050), it would be fine.

i will take a photograph of 1024*768, a common resolution which alot of people use for games. it is shockingly bad.
