I think this is the cheapest 24" on the market right now.. and with 3 yr warranty.. hot
#2
Very cheap for a 24", been a lot of poor deals posted recently on monitors but this is deffinetely hot. As said before they usually all share the same panels.
#3
Can I use my Xbox 360 on this with HDMI?
#4
This AOC is cheaper but it doesn't have any speakers

http://www.pcshardware.com/product/AOC-2436SWA-24inch-Wide-Screen-1920x1080-5ms-TFT-M_24515.html

edit: oops it does have speakers

U can use anything with a HDMI connection.
U can also use this as a TV but u will need a separate tuner for tv channels to work on this:thumbsup:

No HDMI on that only VGA :S

i had this monitor a while back. very good price considering i bought 2 months ago for 176.
the panel contrast is excellent and has an excellent response rate

however, i might spend a little bit more for a benQ 24" hdmi monitor for 154.99

Hmmm.....

Hanns-g is really not the best of makes and regularly get poor reviews.

For just a few pounds more, I would go for this Benq from Oyyy, which does get very good reviews and is occasionally on special offer for less:

http://www.oyyy.co.uk/section.php/25/1/monitors-and-displays

Sorry, but cold from me.

Actually, just noticed this one from Oyyy:

http://www.oyyy.co.uk/product.php/104727/benq-g2420hdb-widescreen-monitor-24-0-inch--1080i1080p--tft-lcd-1000-1-300cdm2--1920-x-1080--5ms-d-subdvi-d--glossy-black-

is currently £137.87 including delivery, only a 2 year warranty, but is almost certainly better.

Maybe I should post it separately...

I'm after a decent IPS monitor for my Macbook but they're really expensive at the moment. This is just standard TFT afaik so the quality won't be that good.

Sorry, but that my kind sir, is pure ********. IPS panels can cost over three times as much as their TFT counterparts, and are only used by professionals for picture/video editing purposes that requires the monitor to have spectacular image quality and colour reproduction. TFT panels, while not being up to the same standard, are still fine in both departments for any consumers and I can't see anyone in the market for a budget 24" realistically expecting flawless image quality anyway.

just bought two 23" Hanspree's with HDMI, got my PC on both via VGA and then my 360 & PS3 both @ 1080p via HDMI on one each.

My office has never been so good. The Speakers are a waste of time but the monitors have sound in and out. Also the sound out works vis the HDMI so got two sets of 2.1 speakers connected.

Best buy for me this year. Will be hard stretched to beat that at £130 each from Misco.

Hi. Can anyone recommend a monitor a similar size and specs but has a built in Tv tuner in it, i.e so I can watch switch between watching freeview and using my pc. Thanks

I have one that is really nice. I think the problem is that they design many different models - some work, some don't.

What I would really want is a 16:10 (or even 4:3) monitor, a DisplayPort input and a USB hub. I know, it all costs a bit of money, but I am perfectly happy to spend a bit more. Just not lots more.
#22
this one looks really good, any ideas?
ok so no HDMI but has DVI which is the same if your going to use your soundcard anyway.

You missed the part where he said he had a MacBook. He's clearly in the market for spending too much on products.

IPS panels are TFT, I'm presuming you're a bit confused and actually mean TN rather than TFT. As for IPS screens being only for professional use, that's not correct at all. The superior quality of true 8-bit LCD technologies like IPS (and PVA, too) over TN means a significant number of people are willing to pay the price premium (which is more like 2x than 3) for purely consumer use. Check any hardware forum that has a popular monitor section (somewhere like OCUK or hardocp.com) and invariably the largest threads are feedback on IPS monitors.

With monitors you get what you pay for. A £150 TN will do the job provided you're not too demanding, but a £300 IPS will do it much better and give an all round more pleasant experience.

I have a Hanns G WH191D, i've given it some serious abuse and it's absolutely pixel perfect, superb screen with an amazing picture. I'd choose a Hanns G again over a larger brand name based on my experience with mine. this deal is as hot as they come.

They are all TN+ panels yes, but not the same TN+ panels!

This will use the same as the cheaper makes, there's not really anything decisive on mointor specs to tell you about the quality, the only way is to read alot of reviews and look for opinions. Hans G have an okay rep for a budget panel, although I'd prob pay afew more quid and go for that benq, they tend to have much better black depths.
#32
Just got my dell 21.5 wish could have waited a bit more
#33
always love reading the comments with people desperate to **** a product off and find a better alternative and then failing miserably:-D

i have a HANNS G 19` monitor for 3 years and its been superb, just ignore the included speaker bit as their a waste of space.
#34
What do you reckon between this deal and the Foehn and Hirsch Deal?
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/653850/22-lcd-tv-usb-media-player-recorder

Foehn and Hirsch is 1.6" smaller diagonally but can play from usb drive (which does sound intriguing!) apart from that i can't really see any differences?
#35
go for the Hanns G Doddy, the quality of them is superb, the USB thing a gimmick you probably won't use (unless the monitor is in your bedroom etc I suppose)
