Doesn't a monitor of this size usually have a higher res?

not really the 27" dell has the same res and so do alot of 26" monitors. its only when you get up to 30" monitors the res increases alot.

And all the 24" monitors.

For most people this looks like a cold deal, for this price or a little more you could get a cracking 24" which would give you exactly the same amount of virtual desktop space (and more real desktop space!) and would be better quality.

If you can't view your monitor from up close then this might be a good deal because of it's comparatively large pixel pitch - and if you're viewing from further away the TN viewing angle difference between the center and top/bottom of the screen won't be as pronounced.
