Just a matter of taste, I actually quite like it as its different to the norm.

If its anything like the HannsG monitor i got for dabs a while back, it'd be great. Really bright picture. I think it's even better (brighter at least) than my 22" Philips monster.

All the best,
Ash

I assume the listed price assumes the £10 discount for using Google Checkout?

I have voted HOT for the price! (good job I couldn't vote on looks - would have given it sub-zero )

erm... it does look horrible. fair enough if the rest of your room looks horrible too, but if you've bothered to make the rest of your room look nice, why would you stick one of these on your desk. it's not exactly shy and retiring is it!!!

I bought this monitor back in November, for about £120 I think. Absolute bargain at this price and if you don't mind the looks (or the really crap built in speakers), it's an excellent monitor. Bright, no dead pixels for me, no ghosting, absolutely love it.

I quite like the look of this monitor because its got round edges etc, Not like the average square things.
#15
I agree, it does look better than the usual pizza-box styling you usually get.

At the price it's a steal, assuming picture quality is OK.

Well i just bought a new 4:3 Monitor as i'm an avid Battlefield 2 player and the game doesn't have Widescreen support.

It is possible to get it to look like Widescreen on a Widescreen monitor by stretching the picture or cropping the 4:3 image (top & bottom) to fit the display but you lose out either way.

EA Games said they don't support Widescreen for some games as they reckon it may give an unfair advantage to some players with Widescreen monitors.

16:9 is for the TV in my living room to watch movies on.

When I'm on the PC I don't want to be looking left and right to see the whole screen.

I do a lot of photo editing and digital photos come in 4:3 dimensions which means that the image fills the whole of the screen and looks nice and 'big' on a regular dimensioned monitor with no black bars on either side.

To get the equivalent size picture height from a widescreen monitor (because of the diagonal measurement) you're going to need around a 22" widescreen size (roughly, left my set square on the bus!) and that isn't something I want sat on my desk.

I saw that monitor about two weeks ago and thought it looked a good buy.

However, what worries me a bit is the fact that it's been 2 weeks now and even with exposure on HUKD there are still no reviews for it on ebuyer.

Thought somebody would have written one by now ..

Also, and don't know if it makes much difference but most other retailers are selling version S26361-K1117-V173 and ebuyer's version is ..... -V172. Can't find out what is different.

I bought this monitor in March at £105 so the deal is good pricewise, but my qualm is all the silver paint on the buttons at the front is starting to scratch off with usual touch and the green light now shows through the plastic screen, this poor wear/tear quality isn't so good for a 3 month old machine,I guess it depends on if you are bothered by the appearance and I would not buy this model again due to that.
