Thanks for posting - just looking for an internet tablet - there is only one review which is balanced so looks a good deal.

The Hannspree Hannspad is designed to entertain you, whether you love watching movies, you're always browsing the web or you're really into apps and games. It's powerful and affordable, with a large built-in memory and impressive multimedia features.
    10.1 inch touchscreen

The Hannspad has a large, bright display with a high 1024x600 resolution that's great for HD movies, high quality photos and all your apps and games. The 16:9 aspect ratio is even used in cinemas, to give you a great view of the action.
Arm Cortex A9 dual core processor

Hannspad has a powerful dual core Arm Cortex A9 processor that lets it process multiple tasks more easily while using up less power. That means you can do more on your tablet for longer.

The Arm Cortex chip also accelerates Adobe Flash 10.1 content, so you can easily stream online videos or play games without experiencing a lag in performance.
    Masses of memory

The Hannspad has up to 16GB of available user memory, plenty of room for your music, movies, apps, photos and files. There's also a MicroSD memory card slot, so you can increase the amount of storage space and keep all your favourite content on your tablet.
    Powered by Android ™

Hannspad is powered by Android. It gives you access to thousands of fun and useful apps, to help you make the most of your day. You can add your favourite apps to your homescreen, and customise your tablet to suit your needs.
    HD entertainment

Download movies and photos on your tablet via a fast Wi-Fi internet connection, and then watch them on your TV, in full 1080p HD quality. All you need is a mini HDMI cable (sold separately).
    Longer battery life

With a powerful Li-Polymer battery, the Hannspad gives you up to 8 hours of non-stop entertainment, so you can enjoy full movies and listen to your favourite albums on the move.

Mmmm looks like it may be worth a shot at this seems great for a 10.1 capacitive tablet under £80 notes ..... I just wonder what stock Rom and if google app store works ? I might have to take a shot at it once I look at some reviews.

Its got the all important SD and HDMI but is it too slow in the big scheme of things...?

I want to get one for someone that is starting High School soon, will they be left behind with this?

No, it's a Arm Cortex A9 (I don't know how much better/worse it is compared to the Tegra 2 or the A8 which most cheap Chinese import tablets use).

Tegra 2 soc has a dual core Arm Cortex A9 CPU. Although CPW don't mention tegra 2, from what I know of this tablet it does have a Tegra 2 Soc

This is a full on review but does mention that it has no google play. Whether thats been changed i dont know so best to keep looking up reviews.

"Android Froyo (2.2)"- but apparently you can update that to Honeycomb 3.01, so maybe you can get android market- doesn't have it as stock. Said to have a better screen than the Advent Vega (faint praise) but NO CAMERA. Reviews mention Tegra processor- this is Cortex, so a different model?

The description says its good for games but the reviewer said it wasnt. Can the description be wrong?

    Ultimately is it any good?

For the money (sub £100) is it the best you can get?

    Screen resolution/functional software/speed etc.

    Major down points?

Is this better than the Archos 101 (g8 i think)? I really don't understand tablets.

Out of 55 tablets reviewed on the "which" website this is the only one that comes out as a DONT BUY! :|

I have an advent vega sat on my desk, but its a bit rubbish. The screen just lets it down, and this looks similar :(

For me, the lack of a camera is the killer. I want to Skype. Otherwise I think a ROM upgrade to Honeycomb (DIY from community sites online) answers many of the issues, especially at the price.

I have a Hannspad and for what it is, it's a great machine.

There are quite a few custom ROMs out there and Jelly Bean is currently being worked on.

It is essentially the same as the Viewsonic G-Tab albeit there are no cameras on the Hannspad.

Just try to avoid the 1633 model with the inferior screen, which is what my local CPW were stocking when I was looking for one last year.

Also be aware that at present, there is no ICS ROM that has fully functioning HDMI or Microphone, although this is being worked on by a few Teams.

Tegra 2 dual core processor is one of the great things about the tab and I currently get around 7 hours of consistent use out of mine.

I've not had any real issues with playing games but I guess it will always depend on what games you want to play as to whether it will handle any specific one.
