Hot from me!

I got the Wind rebadged as Advent 4211 with 3 cell and its ace. Paid more than this (although was a year ago).

I have one of these and it is really good!
Downsides are it has to be stripped right down to upgrade the RAM and hard drive which includes removing a label that says 'warranty void if removed' - cannot be avoided as it is really well stuck on and covers up a vital screw! Also trackpad buttons are a bit unresponsive. Apart from that really good - especially battery life!

does it have a cd drive.

does it have a cd drive.

No it won't as netbooks don't come with optical drives.

You can either use USB memory sticks, an external USB hard disk, an external USB CD/DVD drive or a network connection to install software or to download files onto the netbook.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

If we hadn't just bought the £230 Ebuyer Sammy Netbook deal for brother in laws 30th this would have saved a few quid for a similar quality product.

I'vbe been looking for a netbook for my hubby over the last couple of days and had whittled it down to either the acer one or prob samsng nc10 - how does this compare to either of them?

also, are misco a reputable company as i've not heard of them before.

I take it that the price is after the £40 cash back....

How long does that process take then I wonder?
#9
It says they will pay out after 56 days to allow for any returns. hth

I ordered this yesterday @ 1pm, I paid £10 for next day delivery and it was delivered today 12 noon.

eBuyer have an Acer D250 with almost the same spec. ( apart from only having 3 cell battery) for the same price:-

nice one, these tend to be a little too under powered and i'm glad now that the price is starting to reflect this...

Agreed, like CPC/Farnell they've been around years but previosuly more in the trade sector than retail.

Thanks to you both, how does this compare with the samsung nc10 or acer one ones?

There tends to be fairly minor differences as the netbook specifications are pretty standard (i.e. Atom processor, 1gb ram, 160gb hard drive etc) at least prior to those with Windows 7. Other models I've seen posted here so far at this price come with 3 cell batteries. So I would say that this is a very good deal; voted hot. The whole point of a netbook for me, is accepting something a bit underpowered (but still suitable for the majority of day to day tasks) in return for it being compact, light and with at least 5 hours+ battery life. If you google MSI Wind U100, you'll find quite a few reviews; it's the same model.

The Hannspree has Bluetooth and a 1.3 Mega Pixel webcam. The other two have no Bluetooth and a 0.3 Mega Pixel webcam.

The Hannspree & Samsung has a 6 Cell Battery, the Acer One D250 has a 3 Cell Battery.

Thanks, I think the samsung does have bluetooth - (I know the n130 doesn't) - so basically its between the MSI wind (have seen reviews on this one) and the hannspree - whichever I can get cheapest.

Rep added to you both for taking the time. ty

why do they have to do cashback. what is the point.
why can't I just pony up the 200 quid, and they give me the goods. I hate this sort of thing.
voted cold for just being annoying.

some ppl will forget to send the cashback form within the required 14 days, so they've made a raise on them

Got this for the girl friend's Christmas box. Had a wee nosey and I'm well impressed. Was also well impressed by the delivery. I live in Northern Ireland and even though I selected 3-4 day delivery at 4pm on the Friday it arrived at my door first thing on Saturday morning.

Thanks for the heads up!

They used the name Simply computers for the consumer market in the past, but phased that out several years ago
