Looks a nice unit, would this be ok as a bedroom TV, or should I go for 22"?

Regarding the specs:

# MPEG Profiles and Levels: MPEG4 AVC/H.264 [email protected]
# MPEG Decoder: MPEG-4

Will it play media from a usb?

Yes i would like to know this aswell please ?

It will play media from a usb memory stick- cant say for sure if it will from an external hd though.

Can you please show me where that is confirmed? It's a make or break point, it's ability to playback xvid. Woudl also be nice if it could play back MKV (x264).

Anyone able to confirm?

Good price, heat added.

If it doesn't play mkv, can someone recommend a similar priced tv that does? maybe £20-30 more?

Anecdotal, but we've got three Hanspree TVs. All from misco and all superb quality, I got into this brand when I saw them in America, Hanspree is a good quality brand in the land of the hamburger. All our TVs play xvids through the usb, not mkvs as I tried with my dls of Wonders of The Solar System. Had to play those through the PS3.

If you're looking for confirmation, think about the specs- there is no reason to list mpeg 4 in the specs unless the tv will play xvid files: otherwise, they may as well list betamax in the specs if it only refers to file types that can be played on the screen via add-on media playing devices!

I was thinking the same thing but I reckon 26" is right for the bedroom. It's a lot smaller than you think. I bought a 26" once for PS3 and returned it because it was tiny, however it's perfect for the bedroom imo. I'm on a 20" monitor right now and I think this is too small for a TV! This price is awesome though.

I bought the LG 19LD350 for £130 not too long ago. It has a usb port which can be hacked to play avi's, mkv's etc.

I have did it on mine and was quite easy. However i did need to spend a couple of quid for a oneforall remote to hack it.

Turned up today! Cant get over it for the money! as good as any 19 inch sammy or LG IMHO! really, really nicely screwed together, quality remote, lightning quick EPG, tons of connectivity. Utter, utter bargain! Well done ebuyer/hannspree!
