I'm in two minds whether to get this. Not exactly many good reviews for it and thinking maybe I'll get a better set waiting on eBay or a certain website for a graded or manufacturer refurb set...

Good TV bought a new one at Ebuyer a few weeks ago as a second TV for £205 see they are now only £200. Very good for the price and not a bad picture and sound is pretty good too.

For the people asking will it be good for use with computer watching video will be ok or games but you wont want to be using it for normal PC use.
#16
Just ordered, voted hot thank you.

It's just not crisp enough it will send you mad after a while.

It has a service USB input but not had any luck using it. Doesn't seem to recognise FAT, NTFS or EXT2/3. So no usable one.

No pic in pic either.

Anyone know what the "Scart Half" connection is?

It means that one SCART socket will be fully wired up for RGB video, the other can only take a (lower quality) composite input.
#34
why would the picture not be clear and crisp when using a pc on it? the screen supports HD which is 1920x1080 resolution and so does my graphics card.

would the same be true if i plugged in my 360

Small text looks blocky, when scrolling you get stutter on text, slight pixel colour bleed just to name a few things.

Your xbox will be fine as none of the issues above affect games as they don't require the same precision (well your less likely to notice).

I had the 28" model, and I was not impressed at all. Blurred motion, sluggish Freeview decoder, bright but distinctively off colours, 7 zoom modes - all of them distorted some way on another - and it would not work properly as a PC monitor. Plus the buttons failed within a week. There is a reason that this is being dumped on the market, and the reason is that Hannspree is only a shadow of its former self. The quality used to be quite ok, but it has really gone downhill.

PS: I just noticed that this is the ST model, which is the previous generation. It is not great either, but possibly decent. Just don't expect too much...

It depends on the monitor. The SJ28 for example would just not display the native resolution, and it would always perform some kind of scaling. That is quite typical for TVs, because the TV signal includes about 5% of overscan area which is not usually shown on screen.

2 scarts, 3 hdmi looks like.

No, if it wasn't for use as my main telly, I would get one. I hope I don't end up regretting the decision.

For lower quality, I guess that means something like a VCR? (which is what I'd need it for)
