It has VGA. As for dvi, I thought HDMI was effectively DVI with the addition of carrying audio?.

No idea - I just know I need 2 vga ports, 1 dvi and a hmdi for future sky HD :)

rutson: thanks :)

I got one of the older DVI versions of these, Have to say its a nice monitor for the price. The look is something you either like or don't but it is very solid.

I have mine set up for my son, a pc and a xbox360. The HDMI would have been a plus. We have the PC setup using the DVI and the internal speakers. The 360 comes in on the d-sub and external speakers. tbh the internal speakers are fine for basic pc noises but most people would want something more powerful for the console or watching media.

Good buy though,

700:1 contrast ratio doesn't sound too good unfortunately & would hardly compliment HD, you need at least 3000:1 and the best sets are now in the better TV's are looking at 30000:1 or above

700:1 doesn't compliment HD? isn't that similar to a 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and would you be talking a lot of cash (or a plasma) to get 30000:1?

Can't help thinking that this one is a much better deal though

1000:1 contrast ratio & 22" for about £35 more & a much better response time as well (3ms compared with 5ms)......very important if you are planning to use it with a PC or games console

Thanks guys - maybe i should have been clearer - i meant how are the tech specifications relative to the price.

I dont mind someone pointing out that for another 30 quid more or less you wont notice much of a difference from 'model xyz' but there is no point comparing this with monitors 2 or 3 X the price.

Thanks in advance

Great monitor. It looks a lot better on the desk that it does in the pictures. I bought one as a gift a few months back.

It's not bad but for an extra £35 you could pick up a bigger screen, with a higher contrast ratio & much faster response time.....so that's not 2 or 3 times more.......basically for the specification it's about the right price but not a massive bargain :)

fair doos - thanks

Contrast ratios do not mean a jot. There is no industry standard for measuring these, so manufacturers can quote whatever the hell they feel like.

Voted Hot.....Looking at mine right now (all be it the previous version with dvi). Had it since march 08 and no problems. Looks very nice with any black tower. Came with 3 year warranty.

(Sound is not great but I have seperate speakers so no problem).

This is a 19” screen with a resolution of 1440x900 so HD video is not going to be shown at anywhere nearest its best anyway.

Don’t get hung up on paper specifications as without knowing exactly what they are claiming the figures are no more than ball park figures. You can’t tell from the raw figures whether the 3ms screen is better than the 5ms one for gaming as the way they measure the data might not be comparable.
You are being suckered by marketing BS unfortunately.

I have an older 19" hannspree (The Hanns.G HW191D) and I never have a problem with games on it. If it's of the same build quality as the one I've got then it's a Very good monitor.
