If it's the Handspree they were selling a week ago at £204, Im tempted, even though I don't NEED it !
#2
I doubt its the F&H set as that panel is a 720p one:
"High Definition: 1366 x 768"
Im watching out for this one..

thanks for that pKaTz, I've amended the original post accordingly.

I don't know - I just sent back the Hannspree SJ28, because it felt very unfinished and not really good at anything. It was tantalisingly close to being a decent PC monitor (with just a few colour rendition issues), but I was unable to drive it with the native 1:1 resolution. I also tried it as a TV, and it was distinctly sub par. All topped off with cheap built quality, high energy consumption, supposedly high failure rate (the buttons stopped working within a day!), and I am not sure this is a deal any more.

You get what you pay for. It may be cheap, but is it worthwhile?

I've had a 32" Hannspree in my bedroom for about 6 years now and still going with no issues. My Toshiba on the other hand in my lounge has now developed a slight buzz from the backlight so I think its a bit of luck how long a tv lasts. Very satisfied with how well the Hannspree has done.

I've got the old JT02 ones (think that's the model number) that I got from ebuyer ages ago. Had a two year warranty with it where they collect the TV. Had one problem within the warranty (lost sound over one HDMI port) which was sorted and no issues since.

Cheap and cheerful, don't expect hi-end stuff!

Hot price btw, but annoying that it's not got FreeviewHD

And I have a 3 year old HannsG monitor which is quite excellent and easily beats a standard Benq or Acer monitor. But I really think that the quality has gone down a lot, and I will stay clear certainly of the SJ series.

That being said, this is the older ST series, which everybody seems to be reasonable happy with. Just make sure you keep the warranty card, because it sounds like you will need it.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/229958 must be the model as it's the only 32" LCD that is branded by Hannspree. But this television is currently priced at £239.99, so we are talking a discount of £39.99 ,circa 16%. But this would make a great monitor for the Emachines ER1402 I picked up, but will totally blow out the budget. As currently the emachines er1402 is to be paired with the Wii Speakers 2.1 with subwoofer at £7 from play.com. So currently, a £107 system ....

Not surprising really. Yesterday MAYhem deal was available for £5 less from amazon lol. These kind of promotions are a seriously wasted opportunity by ebuyer to drum up some good hype and release some awesome deals that then get people onto the site looking at other products. Instead it's wasted on mediocre offers where the saving are negligible to non existant and certainly not worth getting excited about.

Kinda luke warm at best...

Does anyone know if this is a 100hz tv, or 50hz.
My current hannspree is the lounge - retro styled one, and its 50hz. I defo want this if it is 100hz.

any updates ebuyer?

Hi Mate, thanks for the confirmation. If this is only at £199 then it's not much of a saving and I will wait a little longer as LCDs will surely drop more this year.

Thanks all the same :)

Review on Crowded Brain.

Gets glowing praise, but I have no idea how reliable their reviews are.

Me too. Mainly because it just isn't needed !
Great deal though.
Also never forgiven eBuyer for a 10 day delivery on their "5 day free deliveries" never bought anything since. Their dispatch drips snotty attitude to my asking how "5 days" incorporate 2 weekends put me off them for good. Though I was tempted with this for the first time since then.
I just thought about their unhelpful and pompous replies, and their deliberate holding of the posting until Friday, thereby another weekend got in the way. I have no doubt it was spite, nothing but. Never bought anything from them in the 18 months since. Bought off Amazon or Novatech instead
#25
Anyone tries using this as PC monitor? regardless which ports it has.
#26
"suprised" to see they still have these available at this MAYHEM price

I wouldn't call it a fantastic deal tbh
Was hoping that this would have dropped another £50 - that would tempt me ;)
#28
Was £282? More deception from ebuyer, over inflate the "was" price to chuck out faux wow numbers.....

I had to send mine back as all the rgb components were not working, when i opened the box i broke the hanspree seal sticker and underneath was 2 already broken seals which meant the tv had been returned twice before and resealed,i got a refund so dint have to raise the issue, are they allowed to send you returned tvs as new?

When I tried to repost was removed straight away by mikeT ????

Got the unit today and picture seems okay for the price,

PLEASE NOTE, if you wish to mount this, the power plug sits out from the back. As opposed to other units which plug in from below, so the unit will not sit flush on the wall unless you have a tilt bracket.
