I feel it is worth mentioning that this product (perhaps coincidentally?) blew the dock connector on my friend's 10 month old 5th gen iPod and also damaged the battery. Don't think he did anything wrong but be careful when installing it.
#7
Please Note ! This is Refurbished Stock.
#8
yes just noticed a liottle explanation of what refurbished stock is, it doesnt actually say this is though can anyone confirm this?
#9
States it on this page ;-

Quote 'Puts the familiar iPod menu on a backlit display right on your car's dashboard, where you can read it at a glance, all controlled by an intuitive iPod style interface. Factory refurbished unit.'

Hi,

It is a refurb unit but we'll give you a 12 month warranty as if it's a new item.

do these work with iphones/ipod touches?

The connection to the iPod is made via a flying lead with a dock connector. As I understand it any iPod since the 3rd generation will work fine with the exception of the shuffle (and only because it doesn't have the full size dock connector).

You can connect Drive + Play in one of two ways. Use a 3.5mm audio line output or the wireless FM transmitter with five preset frequencies.
#16
Thanks for the info.

May be worth a go at 20 quid! drives me made fiddling with the Ipod at traffic lights!
#17
just installed and works just fine - amazing price for a top notch piece of kit.......heat added!!
#18
would this work with a sony mp3 player (normal stereo jack i think)?
#19
yes it would, it has AUX in, although you're better off getting an FM modulator.
#20
Just ordered one - hot! 25.58 delivered  Worth a go in my book. Good luck to everyone with the 'installation'!

Is the sound quality better if using the audio line output and were can you get one from.

Cheers.

My friend has one of these, they are very awesome. installation isn't as scary as it looks, they annoying part of it all is hiding all the wires if it's going to be permanently installed. Good luck anyway :)
#23
Is SVP down?

Looks that way...

Should come with all the cables you need (mine did). Been using one for a few months now and rate it highly
#26
If you've bought and installed one of these, please let me know how easy/dificult installation is
#27
As has already been said, easy to wire in, just take your time, read the instructions and you'll be fine.
#28
Will this not attract attention as a satav and cause more damage to your car (by someone breaking in) than its worth?
#29
Stick a big sticker above the screen saying "NOT SATNAV" :-D
#30
This also works with your IPhones as well, puts the phone into airplane mode though.

Hmm, when I tried it with mine it said "accessory not supported" on the phone's display. Has your iPhone been jailbroken?

VOTED HOT HOT HOT! Heat & Rep added.

However, as the user above mentioned, thats the only reason I won't be going for this - as I'm concerned my car (which is a bit of shed) would then become a target for thieves with this sat on the dash. A shame, as this is a nice piece of kit.

For those who are not concerned by such things, this is a bargain!

We've just updated the description of this unit as it was slightly incorrect. It shouldn't be of concern to most buyers but since it's come up in posts here:

The connection to the car radio can be made by two means:
1. A line-in audio cable (best option, use with head units with an aux connection)
2. The built-in wireless FM modulator (universal)

The original description incorrectly suggested that the FM modulator supplied was the wired (not wireless) type (this uses an FM aerial pass-through connector box).

If this alteration doesn't suit your needs, please email [email protected]">[email protected] for prompt attention. Remember to mention the description change please.

Our 30-day no-quibble guarantee applies to all purchases regardless.

Cheers,

Chris

I can't register on the site - page keeps timing out. Anybody else getting the same?

I've just run a test registration myself and it seems fine (in fact, quite a lot of HUKD members have also signed up today).

Please try again if you wouldn't mind. If it still fails, you can PM me your details and I'll register you and PM back your password.

Infact brand new (non refurb) ones of these with the hard wire for the fm radio are only a little more than this price on ebay so I'd now vote cold if I could

How does the hard wired version differ? Where does it plug in?
#39
It comes with a cable which allows you to plug it into the back of your cars head unit via the existing ariel connection, you then plug your ariel into it. This gives you a better sound quality than the unit boradcasting on FM and your radio recieving it.

You can buy the cable for around 5 pounds off ebay but with it not being included and it being a refurb unit you might aswell get the whole thing from there which will prob work out cheaper too.
