Description:

Set in modern-day Britain, Harry Brown follows one man's (Sir Michael Caine) journey through a chaotic world where drugs are the currency of the day and guns run the streets. A modest law-abiding citizen, Harry Brown is a retired Marine and a widower who lives alone on a depressed housing estate. His only company is his best friend Leonard (David Bradley). When Leonard is murdered by a gang of thugs, Harry feels compelled to act and is forced to dispense his own brand of justice. As he bids to clean up the run-down estate where he lives, his actions bring him into conflict with the police, led by investigating officer DCI Frampton (Emily Mortimer) and Sergeant Hickock (Charlie Creed-Miles).

In-store is where I picked this up for £5, but £4.99 online also now.

Good film if you like fantasy stuff.

Excellent film. It's like a british version of Gran Torino. lol. Just a bit more shocking, gritty and bleak.

Michael Caine really is the business in this but I think the ending was pretty weak.

Gah, I hated this film with a passion! Though nothing wrong with Michael Caine's performance...

I thought was a really strong british film.
Not a classic like the Italian Job or Zulu but one of the better brit films last year.

Great comment above re similar to Gran Tornino. It didnt jazz up the violence or glamorise the tough lives people were going through but it was gritty and well put together. Also some proper old school actors showing why they are still at the top of their game.

Quality film. Police officers will like it. Caine does what they'd like to do!
