Follow the first six years of Harry Potter's matriculation at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with this box set that contains the original video releases of HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE, HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, and HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE.

The films, based on the writings of author J.K. Rowling, chart Harry's progress as he discovers his magical powers, meets his soon-to-be two best friends, learns how to play the school sport, Quidditch, and begins to understand how the forces that killed his parents are still out to do him harm. In the sixth thrilling instalment, Harry returns to Hogwarts for another year of schooling and learns more about the dark past of the boy who grew up to become his arch nemesis, Lord Voldemort. While trying to thwart Voldemort's evil plans and save both the Muggle and wizarding worlds from imminent disaster, Harry is struck by the love bug that seems to be going around Hogwarts. Fortunately, Dumbledore, his trusty mentor, is on hand to prepare him for the monumental battle that's looming ever closer.

I am with you on this one, heat added for the price alone, but won't be buying based on the above.

However, if they did something like they have with the latest Saw boxset(leaving a space for the final film to slot in) that would be awesome, whats that I hear you say, Movie Studio foresight, to the benefit of us, the lowly consumer? Never!!!

It's going to be years before the full box set comes down to this price though. The reason this one is so low is because the new one's on it's way.

not really the first films out in 3 weeks in cinema, then the next film in june 2011. the blu rays won't come out til a few months later at the earliest.

the box set will then follow after the standalone blu's have been well and truly milked.

by that point they will probably do the ultimate editions for every film 1 - 7

so i would get now for the time being seen as though i don't wanna be potter-less for a year and a half.

Well, normally boxsets are for people who like the films and want to add it to their collection. Not many just buy boxsets for a franchise they have no idea if they like or not. Somewhat a leap of faith.

what's hard to understand about that??

To be fair if you've missed the first six films I doubt you'll be in a rush to see the seventh and could wait for the complete boxset containing all 8 films ;-)

Works out just over 4 quid a film for blu ray, of one of the most popular movie franchises of all time. Listed individualy at that price these would go red hot. The presence of a simple cardboard sleeve to hold the cases seems to really confuse some people.

The alternative is to wait for about 18 months to buy the finished set. Are people really that bothered about the cases fitting inside one cardboard sleeve?
