Tesco entertainment no different really! I've had to cancel popular/offer orders because they soon became out of stock even though in stock at time of order. I'm hoping I'm lucky this time.

note: topcashback quote:

Code: HarryPotter15-1
Expires: 06 Feb 2011
Offer ends 23:59 on Sunday 6th February. 15% discount applied when you enter code in the promotional code box in the http://www.tescoentertainment.com checkout. Offer restricted to one discounted product per customer. Discount is applied to the pre-order price of £9.99 on DVD and £14.99 on Triple Play Blu-ray. If the price of the product drops on the day of release you will be charged the cheapest price between the price on the day of release or the net price you ordered your goods at after the 15% off discount. The 15% off Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 DVD and Blu-ray promotion is for personal use only and Tesco Entertainment reserve the right to withdraw or amend this promotion where we reasonably suspect abuse of this promotion.

Not necessarily, check on packaging.

You usually get 2 discs: a) Blu Ray b)Digital/DVD disc c)serial number (code) for using on itunes so you an watch on ipad/iphone/ipod

In past I've ended up buying the triple versions because they've been on offer and better value for money.

Yes but maybe you haven't noticed. They do it for EVERY film. There was a DVD boxset with the first 2, first 3, first 4, first 5, first 6 and now first 7 and there was also Blu-Ray boxsets for the first 6 and 7. Don't know if they did a Blu-Ray one for the first 5. And people still bought it even though they series was still going on. They did it with Shrek, Spider-Man, Toy Story, James Bond, etc. It may be foolish but people will still buy it

Seems to me this is cheaper than Zavvi if you take Quidco into account (much as I'm aware that's not guaranteed!):

Tesco: £14.99 - 15% - 8% Quidco = £11.72
Zavvi: £14.85 - 15% - 3% Quidco = £12.24

Still only 52p in it, mind.
#23
Cheers OP, ordered and used work discount scheme to get another quid off.

A trailer for it on Play.com say's complete the journey in 3D at selected cinemas. Does anyone know if it will be released in 3D too?

No not the first one. Not for a while anyway, if ever. Basically, both parts of The Deathly Hallows were planned for release in 3D. However the first part wouldn't have been completed in time, and to save on the upset it would cause fans (and expensive re-advertisement more to the point) they didn't push the release date back so only released the first part in 2D. Part 2 will be released in 3D, not sure about part 1 getting a 3D re-release...

hope this helps

on another note, when someone was talking about the Harry Potter 1-6 or 1-7a boxsets.... people like me SOMETIMES buy them for connivence, I'd like to avoid them I WOULD but price has recently swayed me not to care so much...

Like Harry Potter 1-6 blu-ray was £22 at some point so I got each movie for £3.33. I wanted them, and for that price I couldn't resist. I also know that How I Met Your Mother would be continuing and i was holding out until there was a boxset of the entire collection, but for £24 i couldn't resist, it's silly price for each DVD.
#29
If you want it for day or release your better off going somewhere else.
#30

#32
by the way can anyone explain to me what is triple play? like why would you want 3 copies of the same dvd??? is it so you can have one for your blu ray and one for a tv in another room? and the other copy for the laptop?? lol sorry no idea why anyone would want 3 in the same house when you can just use one on the laptop /tv etc im sure you wouldnt all be watching them at the same time in different rooms??! whats the difference??

well the digital copy can be used on an iphone or ipod touch, so people can take the film with them wherever they go.

the bluray and dvd is a smart move really. i urge anyone who doesnt have a bluray player to buy this set as that way you have the dvd copy and once the inevitable happens and bluray takes over, then there is no need to rebuy. its also so some families might send kids to bed at a certain time, but they have a dvd to watch up there while the adults enjoy the bluray.
disney do this and it makes a lot of sense. eventually every release will just be a double or triple play and there wont be seperate dvd releases.

Foolish? I picked up 1-6 for for £17.99. That's £3 a blu-ray. And I get to watch them now and not in a 18 months time when the 1-8 boxset might be affordable. It's been great rewatching these movies in HD prior to watching Deathly Hallows in the Cinema! Waiting for a complete box set just for a single shiny cardboard cover is foolish IMO.
