Thank you for the comment about Darlington. Sadly i won't be paying any expenses to go to Shildon as the mighty Darlington 1883 are playing at Bishop Auckland

Cold.

If you're not interested in Hartlepool...why even look at the thread? You win the most ridiculous and inane post of the day award.... petty and childish in the extreme...

If Darlington had the foresight to offer deals like this or offered a reduction on the gate to either Middlesbrough/The Maccams/The Geordies then they might not be in the situation they are in now. As a Boro supporter I think it is a great deal!

Not quite my friend. This argument has been done to death.

We've lowered our prices and nearly the same amount of people turned up.

1,800 @ £18
2,200 @ £12

You do the maths.

Could you reasonably expect anyone to pay £18 to see non league football? The price drop has as much to do with demotion (and perceived value for money dropping at an £18 pricepoint as Darlo move down the leagues)as a willingness to get more people in than you had before. The revenue difference won't be quite as bad if you've got 4000 more supporters buying drinks and food whilst at the match than you previously had at the £18 pricepoint. £12 a ticket is still almost twice as much as Pools when taking advantage of this offer.

If I'm honest, no. Thankfully however it looks like our prices are to drop to £15 next season (on the door price obviously, STH's will most likely be paying £10). Still not dirt cheap but again looking at my crude example above - something which should help whilst not getting us into the mess we are now.

The bigger argument is the pricing of football overall - a lot of money is generated nationally, but that money doesn't filter down the leagues as well as it should do. Even going from League 2 down to The Conference, the money difference is immense.

I'll be interested to see how Pools get on with this offer, because last season by my own admission they sold a hell of a lot - unfortunately only half (at times) actually turned up. So this season increasing that price by 50% you're sure to lose season ticket holders.

How is a 55% increase in the price hot?

Because the average price of admission to a League One ground is £21. With this offer it costs £6.73 a game for adults, £2.17 a game for kids. Scorching hot.

An offer worth thinking about particularly for those who live within, say, 25 miles and no longer have the opportunity to watch league football, like for instance people from Darlington.

I would rather rub my eyes with salt than watch your lot, thank you very much!

Voted cold! (well I had to didn't I!)
Great deal ! Voted hot X)

You'd have to pay me £100 to watch that shower of sh1te X)

id pay to watch my reading side beat them again......mind you daggers has worked wonders with a average pool side
The average Pool's side is worth 2 Readings imo Anthony Sweeney, Richie Humphrey's & the rest of em play with a swagger and it makes for entertaining football.
joel1966
super deal.. I love Pool's ground.. never seen my team lose there ;) long way to travel mind you lol
That's because we usually turn you over at your place!...lol ;-)
Chelsea fan here, what a great offer for Hartlepool fans and the club deserves to have full gates for next season.

Another plus side is that you don't have to play F+++ing Reading so there is a good chance none of your keepers will end up with broken necks.
