    isn't that normal price?
they have 2.5kg bags of some chip or other for 1.19 also which is better value
    dunno if either good though

Bought a 1kg bag of Harvest Basket oven chips from Lidl for 59p last week.
They are in a blue bag, and that's normal price, so your Jumbo fries at 750g for 60p isn't a bargain

    Cheapest way

Half a bag a potatoes from farm shop 28lb or 12.7kg for £3.50

Also very handy for roasting, mashing, boiling. far more versitile.

Also a trip to a wholesale butchers saves loads to

    10lb Minced beef £8.00
    1lb Diced chicken £2.20
    1lb Stewing Beef £1.20

Totaly of topic but, some people dont know how to live cheaply and save money.

I know i will get slagged off as usual but who ****ing cares not me!

well you are making a number of assumptions eg.
people have a knife/peeler - i cant see myself karate chopping the tatties
people have time both perceived and real - time to chop and peel is a wee while - you could perhaps do an hours overtime leaving yourself short on time to do prep.
While the initial outlay in chips is greater the money returned via overtime is much more.

Anyway, different product so irrelevant - you are paying for convenience and a service, both valid purchases.
