The trouble with these things is that if you want to record, it takes a lot out of your processor because they don't have an onboard mpeg2 encoder. Single core CPU's will utilise 100% processing with one of these.

does anyone know what the reception is like using these? I might get one to watch tv in work ( for research purposes only , obviously) when i'm on nights using the work's pc.

If it is like my Freecom stick, pretty much the same sensitivity as any average digibox. In other words, don't expect to be able to receive anything on a weedy little aerial.

On my X2-3800 it uses 3-15% cpu (usually closer to 3%) in other words, I can't tell its running.

I purchased one of these the other day from PC World. They were reduced in store from 29.99 to 24.99. However, it scanned through for 9.99 at the till.

Not sure if it was just the store I went to. However PC World may be able to price match this offer anyway.
