A few usb dvb sticks have been around recently. But, from Tesco and a decent model it seems.

Clearance stock.

Little bit of uncertainty about exactly which Hauppauge model this is. In the picture it's the Nova-T. Under features, it refers to it as the WinTV HVR 900. That is a much higher model that often retails around the £50 mark. I believe the higher model has both an digital and an analogue tuner. It's still a very good price for the lower model if it turns out to be that one.

Here are the 2 amazon pages for the 2 models it may be:

nova-t (the one in the picture):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hauppauge-WinTV-NOVA-T-USB-Stick-freeview/dp/B000F8RPQE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/202-7605295-0535821?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1191795163&sr=8-2

HVR-900T (the higher model mentioned in the features description):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hauppauge-WIN-TV-HVR-900TV-Analogue-Digital/dp/B000CENSCG/ref=pd_sim_ce_2/202-7605295-0535821

Can't be certain which model it is, but both seem good, and very good price for either.

The recent £5 off £20 should work with this.

If you get a good reception with the portable aerial in your location or plug it into a house aerial, then yes.

It can get all the same channels as normal Freeview, plus the radio stations that broadcast over freeview signals.

Unfortunately it seems to be the cheaper one, see http://direct.tesco.com/search/?search=hauppauge

The Nova T sticks are generally available at this price if you shop around, see http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=19782 though they are described as lite.

I nearly bought one because it was cheap, then I realised I would probably never use it! Voted warm

If you can collect from store still a bit cheaper by a few pounds than microdirect or ebuyer after adding their postage costs. Plus, many people on here may have an account with tesco's but not any of the others, plus as been mentioned, often a few voucher codes for tesco floating around.

Still not clear what model it would be from doing a hauppauge search. They have both the cheaper one and the dual tuner one listed separately at tesco, so could still be either. Like I said, the picture shows the nova-t, whilst the description is that of the HVR 900.

I got this one from ebuyer before. No chanel was received from the baby aerial it came with. However, when a bigger indoor aerial bought from Argos was used, the stick worked fine and I got more than 42 channels were found.

PS: Don't waste your money to buy a singal amplifier/booster if you are using this stick or any digital TV box. The singal amplifier/booster works great for analogue TV but hardly for digital TV.

Indeed. See the Hauppauge site (this link) Quote:
[INDENT]Portable aerial supplied (Note: Rooftop aerial recommended)
-and-
The WinTV-NOVA uses a rooftop aerial in the same way that most people currently receive their analogue television programmes. Some viewers will need to replace their aerials to receive digital transmissions if the installation is old or in poor condition. Digital Terrestrial coverage is improving all the time as digital terrestrial television transmitters are continuously being brought on line. However it may take some time for coverage to reach particular areas of the country. Your local retailer will be able to provide up to date coverage information for your area based on a sophisticated post code database. To check if you receive a digital transmission in your area, input your POST Code at: http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/coverage.html

Just wanted to add that this will work with a mac if you can get EyeTV software which is discounted when you buy the stick.

The quality of picture is really good and the software is brilliant.
