Surprisingly strong reviews for this machine.

rubish spin speed would be no use to me that slow [wet washing] take so much longer to dry and if useing the dryer would cost so much more to get the washing dry! not a bad price i supose if you need a cheap washer?

"Haus"? from the Far-East-Germany or another communist country I presume ;-)

my sources tell me they are chinese, and are made to this price so don't expect much from them !

I bought two hygena machines for £99 each over five years ago, we use them several times every day and other than the slow spin they are still going strong. Like this model the best part of it is the variable temperature which allows you to do any wash combination at very low or high temperature.

But I presume they weren't Chinese made.

There was a rash of Chinese domestic appliances that turned up a couple of years ago and IIRC the general consensus was that they were worse than useless - flooding, catching fire etc. I don't think they were branded Haus but I bet they were out of the same factory. Maybe they have sorted out the problems but I would be wary of buying one until they are proven.

That said I wish you could buy a quality appliance with a simple unlimited setting interface. Our current Bosch Excell machine, whilst being quite good in many respects, annoys the hell out of me by the way it restricts what parameters that a program allows. Oh and it also had two failed outlet pumps in two years and a dodgy door sensor.
